New York Rangers ended up losing game 4 in overtime against the Florida Panthers and are now tied at 2 games a piece in this Eastern Conference Finals matchup. Rangers have some areas where they clearly need to step up in if they truly want to compete for a Stanley Cup.

According to the morning practice Lafreniere is still on PP2, we are going to lose because just like GG, Laviolette is refusing to make adjustments. Goodrow or Cuylle need to be bumped to RW1 to give Zibenjad and Kreider space because the Barkov line has completely neutralized them.

Our core is soft. Laffy, Goodrow, Trocheck, Lindgren are not afraid to mix it up and go up the middle. So many times I see Mika, Panarin, Kreider just dish the puck to a Panther to avoid getting hit. Unless we establish the physical game and hit everyone, we are not going to win.

Wheeler to center on PP2. Brodzinski to PP2 also. Kakko out of lineup for being useless. not touching Laff on line 2. Wheeler to line 3. Kakko out. Rempe out. Brodzinski in. Chytil in. I think Roslovic is ready for some big goals and he needs to use his speed more (or rangers need to take advantage). My feeling on Rempe is he cannot do anything bc refs are looking at him and Fla is red hot on the PP. Brodzinski is good on face offs and is more skilled. Chytil is better than kakko. Panarin is a mystery. I think his lack of effectiveness is impacting the team. I feel he does not perform well with physical aggressive teams. he looks "small". I am almost inclined to drop him down a line but not off the PP and maybe slot Roslovic or Chytil in to see if that gets Zib and Kreids scoring. But it is meaningless if we are losing battles, not shooting, not being physical, not being MORE aggressive, and giving away pucks all the time. We need more of what we saw in the first period of Game 4 and a lot of what we saw in Game 3 but without the blown lead. I am just glad I am an armchair coach and no one can listen to me 😉

You covered everything I needed to say. I have just one message for the Rangers… JUST WIN… because this is urgently a must win tonight.
Biggest must win game of our lives. They fail this test, I fully expect this offense to be blown the fuck up this off-season. Probably overdue to be honest and fair. Panthers apparently are just a much better and harder working team. Boys have worked hard but not hard enough at all. Getting dominated for 20-40 minutes is unacceptable in any league unless your San Jose and they don’t have a 10th of the talent we do. Sad.

ZIb needs to get his head out of his @ss; he's arguably the best player on the team when he's playing well, but has played with a hockey IQ of 25. Bread is invisible. Miller needs to use that large body. The 3rd line has also disappeared. No defensive zone structure or coverage; just chipping it out of the zone. Too many icings. Awful puck possession.
This team needs to want it as bad as their fans do.
Panthers only get PPGs. Take care of the puck in the D zone, get it out, and dump the puck in and establish your forecheck. Be disciplined and smart. Shoot the puck whenever you can and this game will be ours. LGR 🗽
