Two biggest takeaways:
- Former Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen an external candidate in the running.
- Canes are being open from the jump about this role being different in how it is a collaborative environment/decision making process vs. being 'the guy' that has final say. This has had a few people change their minds in being interested after hearing about how it will be set up (not a bad thing imo that they are being transparent about it)

Dundon wants to make more decisions and the GM pool says no.
Oh god please don’t let Jarmo Kekalainen come anywhere near this team.
Just hire Tulsky ffs
Kekalainen would be fine as long as he understood that he doesn’t get to make decisions.
The Canes should be able to find some old guard who has connections with GMs and agents but doesn’t have the ego to need a final say. Hell that should be a perk for at least one of these old farts.
All else failing I think Justin Williams is actually not a bad option. He has the right personality and mind for it. He doesn’t have as many connections around the league but he could make them given years of experience.
So….
Lose DW to CBJ
Get JARMO FROM CBJ INSTEAD?
Are we trying to be mediocre?
Out of all the options for GM, Jarmo Kekalainen is certainly one of them.
Interesting about the change in the process. I would not have expected that to be on the table.
It sounds like we plan on keeping a brain trust to make decisions and just need someone with relationships in the league to make calls. I’m guessing Tulsky doesn’t want the job as the face of the team or we would just hire him.
