The 6 day break I fear will kill the tv ratings…. between two smaller market teams and now summer vacations… hockey will be forgotten about by everyone but the most avid fans. This series won't be more than background noise even for me.
The Stars are a wannabee SC team. The Stars are like the wallflower girls at a dance. All dressed up and no one to dance with. They get there and they think that is good enough. Benn is a perfect example, the guy basically skated around surveying the ice like the TOOL he is. Pavelski is done, he needs to retire, sorry, but it didn't happen for you Joe. Jamie Benn is a stain on the Stars, he cost you guys a SC visit in 2023 with his hit on Stone, and he put half effort into the series. Hockey Guy slid in a reference to the Avalanche, well HG, they won the cup 2 years ago and there were so many players needing surgery afterwards because they had grit, desire and wanted to cement there names for ever on the Cup.
The Stars only have a "half-cup" win with a Brett Hull skate in the paint, and I'd say its time to start talking a curse on the team. They can't win the title, and I'd dump Benn/Pavelski/Seguin or continue your losing ways.
I'm not much of an Oiler fan but let's give credit where credit is due. The Oilers are definitely a cup final worthy team. I'm rooting for the Panthers, but it should be a close finals and very likely will go 7.

I will say I do think that the main reason why the Oilers fans decided to mock Otter was because he was one player they could single out. It’s a bit harder to mock an entire forward group for not scoring. Also whether it’s true or not, I think there’s definitely a perception that it’s easier to get in the heads of goaltenders and that it can really throw them off if they do.

Everyone thought Oettinger vs. Skinner would decide the series given that there's such a huge discrepancy between them.
They couldn't have been more correct.
Oh and if Dallas ever wants to get over the hump, dump Benn a few years ago. They're also missing that grit from their roster; even if DeBoer was good enough to make changes once things started to go wrong they don't have the players to do that (most of their excellent young players are smaller/slender built and excel at other things).
I don't mind the 6 day break, however what bugs me is they had round 2 begin before round 1 ended while planning for this long of a break now. Make this break only 5 days and don't start rounds before the previous one ends 🤷♀️
the Florida match up is going to be interesting, they are the most physical team they have faced and by far im not a fan of either team but i got Florida in the finals
