I disagree. Teams overpay at the trade deadline. Look at Jeannot going to Tampa. Received Cal Foote and 5 draft picks. Rounds 1-5 in various years. What would teams pay for Marner at the deadline? When salary is mostly paid out and Toronto can retain.
