Dorofeyev illegal check to the head of Hughes – Have your say!

Pavel Dorofeyev picked up two minutes for an illegal check to the head of Quinn Hughes. Fair? Have your say!

  1. That's a difficult one. Hard to tell if it was intentional….or if Hughes just put his head in the wrong place.

  2. To me it looks like Dorofeyev is bracing for a hit but Hughes is just smaller and got caught at the wrong angle. Or perhaps Dorofeyev was throwing a back check while trying to make a play on the puck and again the size difference came into play. It doesn't appear he launches upward in anyway.

  3. Starts as interference, then is intentionally takes an opportunistic head shot. No respect for his fellow player or safety. 3 games.

  4. I think these Vegas players are just used to playing cheap like that. Might not get called in the playoffs because the action is fast and refs probably don't want to stop play every five seconds. So eventually calls will be missed. You will absolutely see alot of this in the post season. Plays that will give a bit of an edge. What I'm saying is Vegas doesn't win if they don't play that way

  5. NOTHING. Huges was attacking from behind and got the bad end of the stick. BAD LUCK yes. Play hockey, every dog has his day. No Penalty.

  6. Oh, Hughes is trying to stick check the guy as to knock the puck loose. A defensive play no doubt. Vegas play looks back sees him and reverse check. I see these plays happen every now and again. Probably happens at least once a game. Anyway it's straight up interference and could have been troublesome. Two minute penalty for sure.

  7. Legal. Is this era the players brace against being hit from that angle. Every now and then the player about to skate them into the boards will have to eat on.
