The Florida Panthers end up beating the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Finals in game 6. Panthers will now face the winner of the Edmonton Oilers vs Dallas Stars series. While the Rangers season is now over and we’re going to be looking at offseason to hopefully see this team get a whole lot better.

The Rangers need to make some significant changes this offseason. Get rid of Trouba who was a complete liability in the playoffs, let go Roslovic, Wennberg, Kakko, and Zibanajed. Rangers need to get speedy, physical, and good wing players this offseason. This is something that the Rangers lacked in the Conference Finals of the playoffs this year.
Trouba gotta go this one is gonna make people go nuts but I would rid of zibanejad he was terrible and the problem is him and krieder they play a two man game how many different wingers in the last two seasons have they tried nothing works they either have to get rid of one of them or break them up.. they need to get a guy like Brady tkachuk Tom Wilson big grid guys with skill not a Ryan reeves.
Why is it that people choose to focus on “what went wrong” ? Perhaps nothing. The Panthers put together a great team; a team built for playoff hockey. Being a Ranger fan for more than 65 years I am disappointed that the Rangers were eliminated, but it was not because anything went wrong. Whether I like it or not Florida proved to be the better team. I guess that is what went right. I am grateful for the great season and playoff run the Rangers gave us this year.
At least Lavi did change things up, unlike last season with Gerard who didn't change anything lol
I'll tell you why I'm wrong. The Panthers kicked their ass up and down the ice everywhere.
The Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider that played in this series are the same great players that played all year making the Rangers the best team in the NHL all year long.
Does it ever occur to anyone that maybe, just maybe the Panthers concentrated their efforts to keep these three great players from scoring?
My opinion since I love the Rangers apparently more than a lot of Ranger fans on these threads cursing the Blueshirts.
All year long the Rangers and the Panthers were lacking muscle a locomotive like Scott Stevens who would make you think twice before crossing their blue line.
Rangers got Rempe, that was a mistake, he's still a boy in a man's body, maybe he'll get there in his future.
The Panthers stepped up their hard hitting body checks VERY NOTICEABLY. Next season I hope the Panthers get a Scott Stevens prototype

Panthers lost last year and used the off season to re-tool. Rangers need to use this off season to re-tool and hopefully emulate the Panthers’ success.

Need to get Brady Tkachuk at all costs, Mika, Panarin, Kreider, and Trouba’s tenures as Rangers is up, this is as far as we can go with them, time for a retool, get Brady, Zegras, look into Marco Rossi, he’s on the block, Tanev in free agency,
Rangers are a one and done team. They tried too hard to win quick instead of trying to build a TEAM! Build a team to last with heart, speed and hard hitting D. Rangers are a bunch of finesse soft players. Good for regular season but not playoffs! If smart they would sell and start over. They should have learned from the Leafs!
Goodrow is gone for what ever we can get to clear cap.
KK is gone. Traded bait to save cap and bring Otter up.
Trouba could be sacrificed. If he is not gone, his captaincy is gone.
Gustaffson is gone. Thankfully.
They were one of the final four teams. Nothing went wrong. Good lord.

Fear of corners and mediocre conditioning
Kreider, Zibanijed, Miller, Gustufson, others are just weak mentally and physically. Not gritty, not tough, no edge…add sloppy with the puck and you get this DISASTER.
The core is buttery soft. They wont ever win with zbad as 1c and ghosts like Kreider and Panarin playing in minor increments. This is who they are

There will always be very high playoff hurdles to overcome to win the cup. Whether the Kings in ‘14, Tampa in ‘15 and ‘22, or Panthers now. Rangers always have championship-caliber goalie, but never the gritty top forwards or snarly defensemen that win championships. Loved this core over past few seasons, but obviously changes are needed. Drury has some serious work to do this summer!
You're simply suffering from the President's trophy curse. As a Maple Leafs fan since the 1960s, I've never experienced this curse, so I can't say I feel sorry for you…
The rangers had a great season, but the Panthers are nasty. I live in downtown Toronto, so my loyalties are with the Oilers, because #canadaneedsacup.
It is quite simple really, the Rangers are not built for playoff hockey. They sucked 5 on 5 all season, and they banked on pretty plays, and cross ice passes on the power play, to win them games. Not a recipe for playoff success.
Their top guys, Panarin, Zib, Fox, don't play a "playoff style" game.
Their D is still young. K. Miller is still trying to learn the position, Schneider was a bit overwhelmed. Trouba and Gustafsson sucked and must go, especially Trouba. You can't have that kind of cap hit not only not helping, but actually HURTING your team!
If not for solid goaltending they'd have been eliminated by Carolina.

Thanks for the months of great content the Rangers community is the best and most unforgiving in all of sports. The Rangers had a defensive zone play issue all year. The power play was a big reason they were able to come from behind as much as they did. I hope they make the roster adjustments needed to get to the next level. Rempe needs to be coached into a solid playing winger going forward.
God Laf was good during the playoffs. hope he takes another step next year after getting more experience from this run. Move on from Trouba and maybe Mika, add more gritty depth vets and I think we are cooking.
This is what happens when your goalie shows up but the majority of your team (aside from Trocheck and Laffy) doesn’t. Reminds me of all those wasted years with Richter (after '94) and Lundqvist. So many wasted opportunities.
