Negotiations can sometimes take time. Days, weeks, even months. Or they can take one meeting where everyone is happy and the deal is done.
The latter likely won’t happen this week when the Colorado Avalanche and the agent for Jonathan Drouin meet, but it is good to know that the ball is in motion for potentially signing the forward before anyone in the league can come July 1st.
Even though we haven’t played a second of the Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers, we already have the favorites listed for next season. And the Avalanche are right behind the Oilers as the favorites to win it all next year. Should that excite us?
