All the Oilers are playing amazing my favorite is Brown. Man comes in clutch for a PK
I feel like none of them actually believe EDM wins
Edmonton has no chance of matching the Panthers ferocity and brutality. Im sorry but it’s a fact, there is no way the oilers will be able to take that many hits and that much physicality.
Edmonton should be afraid of Sam Bennett
Remember the hot take that "if Skinner plays another game this playoffs, something has gone VERY wrong"..? Yeah – they seem to be doing ok so far.
As a lightning fan I can say this Panthers team is a different beast. They are frustratingly smothering, they win almost every puck battle and in the rare situation they mess up Bob makes the most ridiculous save in the world. Rooting for the Oilers but I think Panthers in 7
Oilers in 6
Steve is the only one with a Brain. 😮. Other 2 dudes just biased talking heads. (Respectfully 🐆 Panteras Win)
I think Panthers also have a slight edge because they had to face some of the best goalies in the league compared to the Oilers. Oilers faced Talbot, Rittich, Silovs, and Oettinger. Talbot's good, not great. Rittich is serviceable, not great. Silovs only had a few games in the league before starting and was still arguably the best goalie the Oilers faced. Otter was good until about game four and he lost his mojo after that.
Florida has had to go through Vasilevskiy, Ullmark, and Shesterkin just to get to the finals. Skinner's pretty good, but if Florida just keeps getting shots on him, they can win the Stanley Cup.
Who swept who during regular season?
Who were never taken to 7 games in the playoffs?
Who eliminated the President's Trophy winners winning twice as much games as them?
Panthers in 5 or 6.
We all know who's going to be given the cup. Only the simple and naive will buy into the hype and actually get confused enough to believe that both have a chance to win.
Florida won't make it easy obviously, but Edmonton punched through two teams that everyone said would crush Edmonton. Florida beating Boston and Tampa was no surprise. The only upset was the Rangers. I think Edmonton has the better offense and the penalty and powerplay have been crucial to our victories. I say Edmonton in 6
Oilers in 6. McDavid goes Paul Henderson and scores the series-winning goal late on home ice.
Stars had the answers for 2 previous champs and Oilers had every answer to Stars. Knoblauch has made something incredible in making the Oilers actually a working TEAM. He will be in the hall sooner than later.
And within that 72 game period, the Jets were #3…. When will the Jets get a Cup?!?!?
Panthers in 6.
No mention of Forsling.
Great show fellas. Top notch content.
Both teams are very similar and very different.
I think the winner would be the team that manages to change the other teams style of play. For FL just take the middle of the ice out for Edmonton reach, For Edmonton, is to block/clog the side entry passes to their zone. FL makes a living forechecking teams to death. Both teams are physical. FL is not going to beat McDavid one on one. It has to be systematic.
If I were Paul Maurice I try and take advantage of Skinners lack of experience in this situations they have to of the best players at redirecting pucks in Verhaeghe and Tkachuk keep peppering Skinner like they did to Igor Shesterkin. Every levy breaks when is under this amount of pressure. no matter how well constructed.
I'll be shocked if this series doesn't go at least 6. The other question is travelling 2500+ miles one way and the other. This can also take a huge toll on a team.
Edmonton will get destroyed. 4-1.
except for one… EXCEPT FOR ONE! AHHHH WHY?
Last year Panthers were all beat up and it was so disappointing. They know and retooled and better…and this is their chance. They move the puck out of their zone better than anyone. If a D joins the rush early in the series it might pay off but won’t continue. The Rangers D gambled and got caught a few times. 1-8 wow. Ok that is BB material right there. Want to see it stay in Fla the new capitol of Hockey? Want to hear how Keith was grilling those steaks all summer.
Panther in 6, Cats have frustrated and beaten down 6/7 teams these last two years. When teams are tired and frustrated they make mistakes and you can’t make mistakes vs the Panthers.
I wouldn’t even be surprised if the Oilers take a 2-1 lead. But then the tiredness will set in, and as the Oilers bend over breathing the Panthers will be standing there… eagerly waiting to go another round… and another… and one more.
