  1. What an awesome achivement for Corey Perry to make it to 5 Stanley Cup finals with 5 different NHL teams!
2007 with Anaheim Ducks, 2020 with Dallas Stars, 2021 with Montreal Canadiens, 2022 with Tampa Bay Lightning and now 2024 with the Edmonton Oilers.
Also he had the record for 3 straight Cup finals with 3 different teams! Can't say this is a record that won't be broken easily as you need to be a valuable assett at any time in your career to be with contender teams.

    And the fact that he is a Triple Gold Club member who have won all three major championships;
    1. Stanley Cup ring (2007)
    2. 2x Olympic gold medallist (2010 & 2014)
    3. IIHF World Championship gold medallist (2016)
    4. BONUS with a World Cup gold medallist (2016).

    And of course:
    – Hart Memorial Trophy
    – Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy
    – 2x NHL First All-Star team
    – 4x NHL All-Star Game player

So saying against Perry not having a HOF worthy member career is just ignorant.
The man hace achived all you could ask for in any hockey player.

  2. Would love to see Pavs come back to San Jose in a developmental role if not the stars org. We still love him here

  3. As a Stars fan I’m sorry Joe Pavelski I wish we were able to make to the Stanley Cup Final let alone winning it all this season but to no avail and hopefully you have a nice retirement dude 😢

  4. Thanks for everything capt america. It would be nice to see him stay in the sallas org in some capacity or another, maybe even as Nill's protoge

  5. Another interesting thing is that there's no player named Evan on the Stanley Cup and that's gonna change this year because both teams have a player named Evan

  6. "It was a shame he never won that Stanley Cup, played in San Jose for so long"
The fact that you could apply this quote to multiple Hall of Fame-caliber players who've retired since 2016 really makes losing that SCF sting even more. I was hoping Captain America would get his Cup with Dallas since the Sharks couldn't make it happen. As a Sharks fan, I can only hope we don't allow another generation of players to have their careers tarnished with the "No Cup" asterisk.

  7. Pavelski retiring is really sad to me… wow… that's a guy I was really hoping would win the Cup. To me, that's even sadder than a guy like Thornton never winning it.

  8. I think when you factor in his leadership and consistency and how he is regarded amongst hockey fans, I think Pavelski definitely warrants consideration for the hall of fame. Sad to see him hang them up.

  9. there can be only one captain america.. you will be missed joe, thanks for all of the great memories! go stars

  10. I've heard that black dogs are also adopted less often. Supposedly, it's because the facial features we find adorable are less easy to see, not a more sinister explanation.

  11. I could see nearly anyone in the 13th-18th spots interested in that #10 pick. Maybe Chicago with the 18th and 34th.

  12. I'll agree with you that players usually waive NMC when asked. But these are two hometown guys on a winning team with UFA expiring contracts. It's a little different than say asking an American in Montreal with 3 years left.

  13. As a Devils fan, I hope we trade that pick. Preferably for a goalie. Prospects are always good of course, but they need to start making the playoffs and competing consistently again.

Also love to see the NHL doing their own puppy bowl. There is an animal for everyone waiting in a shelter. I just got a mixed breed pup from a local shelter, and she is such a sweetheart.

  14. As a Wings fan it's shocking to me that Pavelski, Thornton, and Marleau never won a cup, they were so good back in the day when Detroit battled them all the time in the West. It seemed inevitable that they'd break through.

  15. Black dogs get adopted the least too. Its because their features all kind of blur together in the dark black. People find them more intimidating because of that.

  16. so pavelski didn't say a word about retirement but retires in the end while fleury did a whole "last year tour" in the NHL in every city but he's retconning that and already signed for next year.
that's a oddity in itself because i could see fans be happy if their situations were reversed.

  17. It will forever sting me that Pavelski, Thornton, and Marleau never won a cup. Amazing careers anyway, I always loved those Sharks teams

  18. Shannon, if black cats weren't bad luck, don't you think the Canucks would've seen some more success over their long history?

  19. I have ZERO interest in watching Florida/Edmonton. I have ZERO interest in even knowing who wins the series. For me, hockey is officially over until next season.

  20. This isn't a sports related comment, but I wanted to answer the questions why black colored animals dont get adopted. Besides the color black being associated with bad luck. There is another reason why black colored animals don't get adopted is because the black fur/coats don't photograph well. It is really sad.

  21. This was the only reason I didn’t want my Oilers to win, so many good veterans on that Dallas team I wanted to see win.
