Well if Hronek won’t cut it, chances it’ll be one of Lekk or Willander which is just not worth trading away.
For those saying that Lekk and Willander should be traded, you forget that you don’t win a cup without some value contracts. When Colorado won, they won with guys like Nichushikin making 2M and Byram on his ELC. Stars didn’t get past Edmonton, but Johnston and Stankoven could go for millions more if not for his ELC and Dallas is riding that to long playoff runs through depth they signed with their savings

I’d say Hronek, Raty and 2025 2nd perhaps?

According to Carolina, it would be:
Hurricanes receive: Filip Hronek, Nils Höglander, 2025 1st round pick, 2026 1st round pick, Tyler Myers, and a conditional 2027 1st round pick.
Canucks receive: Martin Necas’ agents phone number to maybe get a text back from him to negotiate a new contract
Jokes aside, I think Necas and Hronek would obviously be the big pieces. The question is, do the Canes add? Do the Canucks add to try and persuade them to take Mikheyev off our hands? There’s so many variables in the non-major names in the trade

My guess is they are asking for Hronek and Hoglander.

A forward, even if they’re top 6, isn’t worth Hronek++. You don’t trade a bonafide top RHD that’s young for that.
Trade him for more and sign Jake Guentzel or some shit. Fuck me.

I’m more curious about what another team will trade for him. To see if that ends up being better than Hronek.
Because no matter what Necas is leaving Carolina. He wants to leave. The Canucks can keep Hronek, and despite how we felt about his recent play he is still a need we have.
I never understood how *we* are the ones negotiating from a position of weakness when Necas pretty openly mentioned he’s unhappy and wants to leave.

There’s no world where it makes sense to trade Hronek for Necas, let alone Hronek+. Our D corps is gonna be miserable next year
Edit: Just realized, so is our forward corps. I think we should trade Petey and tank
CaptainIndoCanadian
Hronek, Hoglander, Lindholm rights, and a pick. I think that’s what we’ll dangle.

Necas is sometimes in Rod’s doghouse for defensive issues. Hoglander is sometimes in Rick’s doghouse for defensive issues. Most likely Necas will be in Rick’s doghouse.
Hoglander is signed for one more year, while Necas is an RFA right now.
I think the price is too high if it’s Hoglander+ or Hronek+.
Rather explore free agency or look for a cheaper option.

Terrible idea to trade for him

Saw somewhere the ask was
Hronek, Hogs, D Petey and a 1st in 2025.

I dunno. It looks like they’re asking way more than I would have guessed. I’m thinking there isn’t a deal here that makes sense for us. Even Hronek for Necas is too much for my taste. And it looks like they want one of our top prospects? I like Necas, but we can’t justify that for him.

Hronek and Mikheyev for Necas and KK, I think, is a fair deal for both sides.

What’s curious to me is that Hronek is okay here. Necas wants out. No way Carolina can pay that kind of money for a guy that they under use and doesn’t want to be there.

Chatfield landed in their lap they owe us now cmon

Hronek is worth more than Necas. Even if Necas is valued as a #1W and Hronek is a #4RHD the value is equal. I’d rate Hronek as a 2/3 though,.as would most of the market. So screw Carolina and let them continue to unravel. That team is going nowhere.

Nucks fan don’t want to hear this but it’ll cost a lot and make us uncomfortable with the amount needed to make it happen. But hey, sometimes you need to be bold and make big trades. Look at Florida, they got to where they are by swinging for the fences

Nothing. Walk the hell away. You trade Hronek plus Lekkermaki or Willander then you are trading what we gave for Hronek, first and second, plus the first that was used on those young guys for a non cost controlled winger. WTF? No. This shit isnt supposed to happen anymore with this management. This is a Benning move.
