New York Rangers lose in game 6 against the Florida Panthers. Rangers season is now officially over and the Panthers are moving on to the Stanley Cup Final once again as they did so last season as well. Igor Shesterkin continued his phenomenal play but Florida ended up being the better overall team.

Panthers played a heavy game against a softer team. Wore the Rangers down. Igor was spectacular, Bob was good.
Let's start with no dam open ice hits, no separating player from puck, passing was terrible, this team's captain Jacob proved he is not worthy of holding the C, not once did he lead by example, and expect Rempe and Igor to carry the team, what coach proved as well its time to hang it up, the few that stepped up showed but as for the star players, trade them all, and build a real team around Rempe, keep Igor though.
Very disappointed….but I'm still proud of the guys. Def need to make some changes…..again, but, I think it was a great season. LETS GO RANGERS!!!
So thankful that nothing from New York is in it anymore. Hopefully the NFL is the same way and Rodgers steps on giant cactus before game 1. Now if the Orioles or Red Sox catch the stankees by October, I’ll be complete.

Rangers must do whatever it takes to get Brady Tkachuk I’m sorry but Mika needs to go I had enough of him not showing up when it matters it would be painful to see him for 7 more years of the same crap his regular season was horrendous kreider gets a pass for what he did in Carolina,Panera at least put up points in the regular season that contributed on the rangers winning the east,Trouch was great and Laffy was the best player behind Igor now the rangers need to add a top scorer gritty player like Brady Tkachuk get rid trouba and sing Tanev bring ottman up and hopefully that will do it if the rangers bring the same bs next season expect the same result.

Coaching was key! Fl knows they have a shaky Goaltender so they play great D along with physical and fast Offense. Ranger needed to just shoot the PUCK! Get it on net and get the dirty rebound. They never changed their game plan to counter Fl. It may not have mattered but they played into Fl strength. Rangers don’t have the playoff grit with the players they have. Reminds me of the maple leafs. They won’t win a cup with these players.
Ranger's management has a lot to think about. The right wing on the top line was a black hole all season long (Wheeler, really?), and management did a poor job addressing this at the trade deadline (Roslovic, again really?). This line needs a "Tkachuk-like" player. They also have to address the Fox-Panarin Paradox, which is the Rangers cannot get to the playoffs without their skill but cannot win in the playoffs because their diminutive size and lack of physical play. They need to build a bigger, stronger, and more aggressive team. Rempe was a recognition of this, but he alone is not the answer.
And let's give credit to where credit is due. Over the last three years in aggregate the Panthers are arguably the best team in the NHL. Three years ago they won the President's Trophy. Last year they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals and along the way beat the Boston Bruins who had just had the greatest regular season ever. This year they beat a hot and streaking Lightening team (4 to 1), a solid Bruins team (4 to 2), and the Rangers (4 to 2) who had a great regular season winning the President's cup. They will likely win the Stanley Cup in no more than six games, no matter their opponent. There is no shame in losing to the Panthers. They are just that damn good.

This is what happens when you are consistently outworked. When your top line and PP don't show up. When the other team always seems to get to the loose pucks. When you stop finishing your checks. When you keep relying on the goalie to cover up for your bad play and lack of effort. This is what happened to Richter and Lundqvist.
Sean McDonough said it simply during the handshakes "the relentless physicality of the Panthers was too much for the NYR" the style of play the NYR play will never succeed during the playoffs, they have too many soft players, not once did i see a NYR player cross-check Tkachuk or Bennett in the back just for anything but to make a statement even if it draws a penalty….Miller & Krieder are heavy set both built like a rock and they rarely give out bone crushing hits, its as if they are too humble or nice to play that way, its a shame…plus getting Wennberg & Roslijic was a waste, they did nothing to improve the team & then theres Kakko..sheesh what a waste, how he keeps playing all the time is a mystery to me, Rempe is more of an offensive threat than kakko…trade him or send him back to finland or wherever hes from…being physical in the playoffs WINS you games, not skill..the NYR will never understand that & until they change the culture of this organization they will never win the Cup.
