  1. First off, Lebrun asked Verbeek directly, and Verbeek said no comment.

Until he comments, everything else is just speculation.

Guhle or Reinbacher as a start? Not going to happen.

26th pick & Struble, take it or leave it

  2. defence isn't going anywhere , 2 years ago slaf then mesar in the first round , this year maybe demidov and at 26 artamonov pair of the russian , win win .

  3. i'm sorry, complete bullcrap. The ducks value a lot Zegras, only this "reporters" think they don't do. We got no replacement for him. Complete click bait.

  4. Zegras isnt even that great. Sure he’s a good player but considering Anaheim wants to trade him and zegras wants to leave. The price shouldn’t be stupid high. He can’t even win face offs.

  5. Well, i would do it, you go get Zegras for Reibacher, and then you draft one the top right Dman at fifth.

  6. Harris, Dvorak, struble and a top 3 protected 2025 first rounder unless the habs decide to fork over their 5th overall at the draft.

  7. Great report LR99!
    1. Ducks have to talk the player up to make trade palatable. If the malign him, no other team will want him.
    2. He's young and talented and needs a change of scenery.
    3. If I'm Kent Hughes…..I'm NOT mortgaging the farm for this kid. Hughes & Gorton have said all along they are building for the future and not looking to part with solid assets for an unknown (same goes for PLD). I would NOT part with prospective 1st and 2nd pair young "D" for Zegras.

  8. You always ask for alot. The value eventually drops to earth. Also, if they are actively shopping Zegras, then the relationship between he and Ducks is severed and over. The longer Ana waits, the less they will get for him.

  9. sorry MTL does not need Zegras. not the type of culture player habs need. to much money for zegras. i would not trade for zegras even with the talent he has. why does the team he plays for want to trade him?

  10. Well, if habs go ahead with this trade, it will weaken the team. Zegras has a certain value, not as high as that. Let's wait a bit. If another team is willing to destroy their team to acquire Zegras, go ahead, otherwise, the price will go down.
I'm ready to give the Jet's pick + a young defensman like Harris AND/OR Barron, but Guhle + Reinbacher worth more than just Zegras. While asking stupid thing, if they want Guhle + Reinbacher, add the 3rd overall pick with Zegras !

  11. No thank you. This is the stupid season. Montreal will find someone to dance. Kapanen will provide Montreal with a super solid top 3. Beck is probably your number 4 when it’s time to make a run. That means you need to find value for Dvorak this year to move him, and Evans at the deadline, whether you’re in the playoffs or not

  12. Struble + late pick + Owen Beck… if I'm the Ducks, I'm jumping on this simply because of Beck.

His play during playoff time reminds me of a potential Sam Bennett, whose stock is REALLY high right now. Love Jake Evans, but Beck should rapidly become an upgrade.

The reports coming out of Anaheim are nasty. Zegras' value will begin to plummet. The problem is, is Hughues in a position to make the best offer?

Lately, I've been thinking. I've been calling Zegras to MTL draft 2024 for over a year now. But Don Waddell getting himself the job in Columbus is now a factor. And this guy isn't afraid to pony up when needed, especially that he'll probably try to make a splash in Columbus. I can definitely see him going after Necas, but he might have the ammo to get Zegras as well. It ain't his roster, he has no attachment it.

Besides, the talks about Hughues moving up to secure Demidov are getting intense. I'm thinking that between paying a huge X to get Zegras or Necas, and paying that same X to Anaheim or Columbus + 5th might be the better road to go.

Can this season end already? I can't wait for things to get moving again 🙂

  13. stop putting Block shots as a good thing. Are you podcasts are dumb as a box of rocks defense should be clearing the front of the net for the goalie to block the shot. Just asked Shirkin from the Rangers so stop glorifying Block20 shots and Gooley will be a beast, when he plays defensive hockey, not shot blocking!!!!!!!!!!!
