Devils/ Flames fan: I went through this with the devils for like 5 years before they finally cleaned house and admitted it was time to gut it and rebuild. But for too long they were in purgatory trying to patch together a playoff bubble team, only to constantly fall short.
The result was crappy draft positions, a Barron prospect pipeline, icing lines playing well above their skill set, and too many albatross contracts for aging players.
As a fan I felt like management was just trying to be good enough to save their jobs, but in the end it cost all of them.
