– Caleb Williams hit Velus Jones Jr. for a deep ball TD in the play of the day. The play before Williams was picked off by Tremaine Edmunds, but it’s nice to see Williams bounce back after a bad play. Also, Jones is battling for a Bears roster spot, so he needs a strong offseason.
– Nate Davis returned to practice in a limited capacity as he participated in some team drills. Bears head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters that he doesn’t know how the right guard position will play out, but did say Davis is “expected to be in there.”
– Bears Injury News: Cole Kmet and Braxton Jones were held out of practice for “precautionary” reasons. Tyler Scott, Dante Pettis and Collin Johnson also did not practice.
– Rookie Punter Tory Taylor had a strong day, pinning several punts inside the 10-yard line. Eberflus called him a “trick shot guy”.
– No Teven Jenkins contract extension? Jenkins told reporters that his camp has reached out to the Bears for contract talks, but that “nothing is on the table” as of now. Jenkins is currently set to be a 2025 free agent.

Extension, absolutely you wait until after this season or at least late in the season. He’s injury prone…. I love him but it is a crap shoot. Our offensive line is where our focus will be the next 2 years.
As hard as I've been on Velus last 2 seasons that was a nice play. I liked how Herbie supported him. Either way I wish him the best.
