Bob was DIALED all game. If it plays like this as the team plays much better that they did tonight, Florida should have no problems moving forward. There's definitely plenty to take away from tonight from both sides, Edmonton just got badly outgoalie'd, and Florida needs to get a lot more shots on goal and start forechecking more, which is why they're even here in to begin with.
All of that talk of how amazing the Edmonton offense is, only to get shutout in game 1. The amount of angry Oiler fans in my replies is just the cherry on top.

Counter view. Florida fans should be scared.
They got outplayed for 40 minutes straight and only started to look like the normal panthers during the last 10 minutes when they switched to the trap to just sit on the lead. They play the same game again and oilers win 99.9% of the time.
They need to show everyone that the first 2 periods weren’t just a fluke. A couple of bounces that go the other way and a fraction of the luck Florida had and Edmonton could have easily won this game and everyone would be saying they looked dominant and Florida doesn’t have an answer for there offense.
It felt like oilers were on the verge of a comeback up until the 3rd goal
without the freak show in the net, (mad flyers fan here) the panthers wouldve been blown out this game.

Bob had a expected 5.61 Goals saved above THIS game. Before this game he had a expected 4.8 TOTAL in the whole playoffs.

Knoblauch panicked yet again and tried to get Draisaitl to carry McDavid, which just puts the Oiler's two best players against Florida's shutdown line instead of one of them. Good Florida goaltending, bad Oiler's coaching, and full credit the Panthers buried their chances unlike the Oilers.
As a goalie I would have enjoyed watching Bobrovsky had I not been an Oilers fan. So hey if Bobrovsky feels like he needs to take the week off he deserves it and should take it.

Nobody gives credit to the defence who cleared the crease, kept oil to the outside, didn’t give many rebound opportunities, next to no second chances, let bob see everything and completely shut them down in the third period
