There’s no way you followed Connelly throughout the year and come to the conclusion that Habs should pick him at 5.

Cost his team the gold medal at U18.

Countless of dumb and dangerous penalties in the USHL.

Suspended for on-ice behavior in the USHL.

I don’t think what he said/posted at 14 years old even matter.

Connelly is an absolute “do not draft” for me, because of the character concerns AND the fact he would be a gigantic reach at 5. There will be much more complete players available.

Sennecke is enticing but also a reach at 5. IMHO you would get more value from Dickinson, Buium or Parekh.

Thanks for giving the Cliff notes so we don’t have to listen.

Now let’s ignore that advice ok?

  4. The title is taking this somewhat out of context. He said Connelly is a top 3 forward to him in the draft, but no way the habs are taking him. He said he’d prefer Demidov and then Sennecke compared to Iginla or Lindstrom

  5. He also said that he would be taken between 15 and 20 because of his attitude issue

Boisvert always has an interesting opinion. I recall in 2022 he had Connor Geekie as the top draft eligible and Wright was not in his top 5.

    Connelly 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Sennecke is so interesting. I know the production isn’t there, but the hands and toolkit is so enticing. I don’t think I’d be upset with him at #5, although I know the hockey world and this sub would go nuts again.

McCagg also recently spoke with his coach in Oshawa and he claims he’s now 6’4”. If that’s true, that just makes me feel more confident he’ll be their pick.

  9. How can u take seriously someone who calls themselves snake

  10. It’s weird to me that most scouting type people will say to everybody that Iginla is a reach at 5 but in the same breath will say to take Sennecke there. Nevermind Connelly! I trust management to pick the best one.

Although I don’t always agree with Boisvert, I like the way he formulates his opinions and how he’s not afraid to admit when he’s been wrong. He is not trying to look a certain way, he’s just seeking the truth his own way.

People will say he’s an idiot for liking Connelly without watching a single game of his, but he could very well end up being a great player.

If you take this interview, and what crusty mccagg is saying and you add that to what the gm of Utah Bill Armstrong just recently said, Sennecke will be a Hab. Does that mean they’re right? Nope, but I’m hoping for Demidov, then Sennecke cause they look like the 2 most dynamic offensive talents imho and I’m just a highlight watching slouch like Eric Engles said.

  13. All I hear about Sennecke is how he has a small guys game in his 6’3.5 frame and how that’s a good thing.

Yet in the past when you’d hear about big players that play small it’s always been a bad thing. Feels like he’s being granted a projection that he will learn to use his size and I don’t think that goes without saying.

Obviously no one is picking Connelly in the Top 10.

And full disclosure: I’ve never watched the kid play a full game or even followed his trajectory in the least, so I haven’t seen any of the dumb stuff he’s done on the ice (and will give him the benefit of the doubt for his idiocy as a 14 year old internet troll.)

THAT SAID: it’s easy to spot what Snake loves about Connelly. His skating is sublime, and his ability to make skill plays at top speed is exceptionally rare and, yes, I’ll go there, somewhat reminiscent of Connor McDavid.

So much would have to go right in order for him to become a star at the NHL level (and the odds are it probably won’t work out). Huge gamble, but he’s a potential massive steal if he hits.

I’d like to see all these scouting guys post their records…show your draft rankings for say the last 10 years, so we can compare them to the actual drafts, to see how you did.

  16. Alexander_Rover

Snake lol 🤣😂🤣😂 don’t know why this guys opinion is getting attention…he’s a joke

  17. VonDingwell

Demidov, Lindstrom (based on doctors reports) or trade back and get Ignila

Oh and take a flyer on Letourneau late in the first

  18. IcyChard4

I think the Habs have already made their choices come draft day. I don’t see Connelly as part of that.
