  1. QUESTION OF THE DAY – Should Zeev Buium Be On The Chicago Blackhawks Radar With The 2nd Overall Pick? Plus, What Are Your Thoughts On Buium's Potential? Let Me Know.

  2. I think he has great potential as a defenceman. However, I don't think he fits into the mold of what Chicago wants to to at D. The Blackhawks seems to want large defencemen that can skate well and close down lanes as well as move the puck up ice. There are better options for the Blackhawks.

  3. They should consider Iginla. A sure 80 point guy . Fits the speed mold and has grit. Levshunov could end up a third pair guy. Demetov can bust. His style could get shut
    down in the NHL..

  4. If Buium was 2 inches taller, 15 lbs heavier and RHD he would be in consideration for #2 overall. But LHD 6' 180lb, he is not.

  5. Buium's game right now is more reliable. He seems to be more of 2 way shut down defenseman than Levshunov, who is more focused on generating offense. Levshunov does have better individual tools than Buium but Buium is just a better all around player right now. Will he be a better all around player in 5 years? Who knows?

  6. Buium is a good steady Dman but not a 2 overall but if they trade up to take him with their 2nd first round pick I wouldn’t be disappointed

  7. Question… I see the Hawks traded up and now have the number 18 pick instead of 20. Do you think that will make much difference? Do you see someone they could get at 18 that might not fall to 20?

  8. I personally think the hawks should go with buium. I mean he's a star hidden in plain sight with not many people hyping him up to his true skill level. He is by far the best offensive defenseman in the draft and with a league that is more shifting to that style of play and not to mention his compete level. He wins when it matters like as of recently leading Denver to the national championship as a freshman. If I'm the hawks right now I'm looking for players who want to come to compete and win cups like their recent dynasty players. This appears to be what buium is all about. If I was looking to get a player who is built to play in high stakes game, it would be him.
Althought, I do see some weakness in his defensive game, but there isn't anything that can't be fixed by the Blackhawks development system. I do understand that he is alhd and the hawks have many in their prospect pool, but like Kyle from Chicago said in an interview, he wants to go for the best player available. With the amount of picks coming up in the coming years for the hawks there will be plenty of opportunities to snag a good rhd. Now because buium isn't supposedly high on many draft boards if I were the hawks I would trade back to the 4-5th pick and try to pick up a first rounder or two second rounders- a pick in 3-4 years. Even if he doesn't fall to pick 4 we would at least be guaranteed leshunov or demidov which both seem to be the forerunners for the 2nd overall by the media. This would make their pick super easy due to it already being decided and it would look far better if one of those two goes south and you select them at second overall as the gm. Furthermore having this selection received from the trade, which would be later in the future, would be appealing to other teams and also could help insure a start to preserving a dynasty and keeping it alive. With starting this process of setting us up to bring in new guys in the future, hopefully during a dynasty in many years, from this pick it would help ensure staying under the salary cap because I already know bedard and a few other players a gonna be receiving big contracts later down the line. This move would capitalize off buium being so underrated on many boards while simultaneously being a hidden gem and it would also help set up the hawks to keep a potential dynasty alive longer. I’m open to the chance of entertaining a nhl front office job offer btw.
