Not directly about the Kraken, but this is league-wide news that will impact both the Kraken as a team and us as fans. As the article points out, many teams in the NHL apparently had agreements with CapFriendly to access their data and use their tools which are now getting canceled. I’m sure the Kraken have their own internal tools but it is possible they were using CapFriendly too.
As fans, CapFriendly has been invaluable to understand how the league functions and how rosters are built from salary cap management, draft picks, trades, and more.
https://puckpedia.com/ appears to be the natural successor at this point. As a hockey community we’ve gone through this before with both CapGeek and GeneralFanager having led the way but getting shut down which led to the rise of CapFriendly. Another company/site will step up to fill the void eventually but it still sucks.

Why buy it just to close it down? So dumb
