  1. Hey Rachel and Russ – Since summer is fast approaching, and hockey news will probably be dwindling by mid July or so, I thought I'd ask this question that I've always had. How do the players get paid? Say a player is making 5.2 million per year. Are they getting a direct deposit of $100,000 per week (less taxes, agent fees, players association dues etc.)? Do they get paid weekly/bi-monthly/monthly/quarterly/annually? No urgency for this answer… but when things get slow, maybe you could do a segment on how the players are paid. What other fees are deducted from their pay besides the usual taxes. How are the agents paid. Do they have a customary fee or percentage? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks for keeping me in hockey news during the season, but especially during the off months. I used to go through hockey withdrawal each spring, and then suffer through the summer, impatiently waiting for September and training camp to roll around. You guys make the off season bearable. Thanks again!

  2. Enjoyed the show. I'm glad to see the important topics are being covered, and that the gossip is being left on the sidelines. Leave the trashy side of social media to the TMZ type casters. I'd like to see the team take a page from the Phantoms playbook when it comes to the younger fans and the families. However, today's adult fans make going to the games less enjoyable. I don't want to hear people yelling garbage, see them start fights, or watch them do other things unrelated to the game. I haven't been to a game in a long time because of all the silly stuff going on in the stands. It's really not a place where I'd like to bring a kid, and hang out for a while. I guess that's a statement about reaching out to the wrong fanbase, but they do need to be kept in check if you want more families to attend, and lifelong fans to develop. Also, quit investing in team mascots more than the team players. I don't see anyone lining up to get a chance to play for this team. Anyway, keep the good chats coming. The fluff pieces can stay with the casual fans. Almost forgot, what about picking up Petrovsky who was released by the Wild? Thanks.

  3. I have been to flyers games. I can't go anymore because it is way too expensive. And there is the whole Flyers org going wonky on all the social stuff as well. I tried hard to listen to the end and find one little tidbit I could agree with or grab on to in order to get through summer as a supporter.
    That did not happen.
