Largest Geographical Distance in NHL Finals History

The Stanley Cup Finals have the furthest geographic spread between teams, with 2,541 miles between Edmonton and Sunrise. The furthest possible spread? That would be the Florida Panthers and Vancouver Canucks at 2,777 miles. For comparison, the Montreal Canadiens and Anaheim Ducks are 2,456 miles apart, while the Canucks-Canadiens spread within Canada is 2,290 miles. Canada is wide, eh?

I was wondering Vancouver to Tampa. That’s just a dismal 4185 km or 2600mi.

Washington, DC to Las Vegas is roughly 2,403 miles (airport to airport).

  3. A friend of mine is working the broadcast. He’ll clearly enjoy his next flight: fort Lauderdale – San Francisco – Edmonton…

The interwebz tell me that the straight line flight distance from Boston to Vancouver is 2,507 miles.

Sunrise is closer to Brazil than it is to Edmonton. Edmonton is closer to Russia than it is to Sunrise
