I wouldn’t mind Marner, but boy that is brutal value. The writer is clearly an idiot.

This Andrew Florio guys needs to keep our top prospects’ names out his mouth. Lappy, Leonard, and Chesley aren’t going anywhere unless the return is McDavid. And even then I’m not sure I’d like the trade.

Why am I being downvoted lmao

Leonard for Marner won’t happen. Marner is worth Leonard and a 1st. Fans always think a prospect is worth more than a 90 point superstar. After all, what if Leonard ends up being a ppg player!

I’d love to have marner. However the one thing I wouldn’t give up is Leonard. Literally the only piece I don’t think we should part with.

I would take that trade in a heartbeat. Love our prospects, but 100 point players don’t grow on trees. If anything, this would be a steal and Toronto fans would be devastated by the return lol

Saving you a click: Lapierre + Leonard + Chesley  for Marner is the trade proposal.

Why? Marner has a NTC and in one year he’s going to be worth exactly what Jake Guentzel is worth: less than a mid round pick.

A pending UFA winger isn’t worth what Toronto fans think he is and Washington isn’t about to undo the rebuild they’ve been working on for years.

If Washington makes a big splash it will be some future picks not their current youth

Typical Toronto sportswriter trying to will highway robbery into existence. This is a trash article by a trash journalist about a midling player. Just no all around.

  8. Dude wants to win a cup, not be stranded on a mediocre team. Not everything comes down to just trades.

  9. MadFlava76

Article is suggesting Marner is worth several of our best prospects. No thanks. This article suggests a huge overpayment.

  10. Not at all.

The Caps are basically on a re-build, with helping Ovie get his goals on the radar.

Any trades need to be with the idea that hopefully they can be competetive in 3-4 years, not next season.
