Edmonton has RELIED ON their powerplay this entire playoffs. That powerplay is 0-7 in this series so far. You need more than just a powerplay to win a cup.
Gretzky and Sidney Crosby lost in their first appearance in the Stanley Cup finals. McDavid needs to learn what losing is and that gut wrenching feeling of another team lifting the cup in front of him.
To put it bluntly they are simply outclassed, panthers aren't an easy team like most of what they've faced to this point.

Draisaitl should be out for series or very least next 2 games (1 as makeup for missed major penalty, 2nd as bs min to equal 3-4 reg season games). Feels like a 5 game min if he did this in December (especially if he had a different name/team but did exact same act).

The way i see it is, The panthers have outworked some of the best teams in the NHL. Bruins, Rangers etc. . So what made anybody think the Oilers would do anything 🤷😂

The refs ruined this game just way to many calls that were non calls the dirtiest thing was the Florida player choking out bouchard he is tapping and he doesn't let him go that should be automatic suspension choking ridiculous oilers were right about missed call puck getting flipped out it was a penalty and the knee on knee were collisions not trying to knee refs were to involved and caused a game to get out of hand
Defense wins in the playoffs . The Rangers are a far better team than Edmonton. Florida took them out in six.

Panthers deserved to win. But the refs lost control. Missed a potential game changing 5 on 3. The refs are to blame for any injuries as they forgot how to do their jobs.
Barely any shots in 4 games. Few shots means even fewer goals. They have less than 9% chance of coming back. Bettman cup stays in the states. What is it? 32 years in a row?
If things don't turn around for the Oilers, some will be referring to them as frauds, seemingly to suggest that their having made it to the final was just some sort of a fluke (and maybe it was).

From what I saw, every time the Oil got the puck deep there was 2 panthers and 1 oiler digging for it. There was also 2 panthers hanging around the oiler most likely to get the pass out. Also there was generally no defense joining the rush, they were going for the long breakout pass and not hoining the rush.. If there was a fight for the puck in the panther's zone near the blue line, both defense were backing off to the red line. All to defend shaky Skinner and reduce shots.
To fix this the defense needs to go into offense mode at every opportunity and go back to what worked all season. Try to win 5-4 instead of 2-1. Desperate times call for a change.
