One thing you said I'd have agreed with you but I'm not certain about now. I went to a Q&A a few weeks back with AGM Tom Holy and someone asked about Halttunen potentially playing in the AHL next year. Tom said Halttunen was not. It's possible he was mistaken but I'd think someone who actually plays a role in deciding when he gets called up would be clear about that.
At the basic level the CHL-NHL transfer agreement is simple but I really don't understand once you get into the weeds a bit.
