Let me know your expectations for the Wild this off-season
As a Wild fan it's going to be another tough year. The hope is for young players like Liam Ohgren and Marat Khusnutdinov and even Riley Heidt to win jobs in camp. Ohgren and Khusnutdinov played the last 15-20 games so at least they know what they have to do over the summer and what to expect.
Great Video, as usual, Mike. I agree with you. I don't know what The Minnesota Wild can or will do, for exactly the same reasons that you mentioned, especially those buyouts for players that are playing with other teams. Let me know if you see anything other than trading one or more of their Top Guys & doing A Rebuild.
trade for draft picks and prospects? goaltender Gustafson? also get cap space?
What I don't understand is why they hired John Hynes to be their head coach after firing Dean Evason. His time with New Jersey was bad, his time with Nashville was okay but nothing great, and the times his teams made it to the playoffs they got bounced in the first round. I don't know exactly what to expect in Minnesota with John Hynes, but I don't expect a lot of success with him as head coach. In my opinion, the Wild should have named an interim head coach and then hire a new coach during this postseason/offseason, since there seem to be a lot of major candidates on the market this year.
Wild are short of Center
Trading Rossi for anything else then a center and before Faber contract is done is nonsense
Wild are probably even more scared that Rossi could do even better .Lets say do a 30 goal season
Can we just trade the wild for the stars?
How long is the Minnesota wilds tied up to the Zach Parise and Ryan suter contract
Maybe Bill isn't the best choice for gm. He just may suck.
Sens should trade for Rossi and Gustavsson
The Wild were a team decimated with injuries all season which caused them to not get any continuity. They had patches of great play but never dug out of the two big slides – one after Spurgeon went out early for the season while Kaprisov was still not right, the other slide they literally had 7 top players out all at once, including Brodin ( which was huge ) and
Kaprisov who was hurt in Winnipeg again ( Dillion). They never recovered. Coming as close as they did was actually quite a feat, all things considered. I feel the league should let Vegas have the money the Wild are short as a curtesy, oh wait, Stone can get hurt again and they can grab Pavelski in March, use the wilds money. Glad you mentioned Faber, where would the Wild have been without him last season. I do feel he deserves the Calder but that another podcast. If the young kids can play and contribute, the Wild will be battling for the 7th / 8th slots. Hoping they keep Gusty as next year they will have the cap money back – finally. Itās just around the corner when the Wild will be dangerous with Wallstedt and hopefully Gusty plus the transformation of the roster to the prospects. Guerin is on planā¦
