Doug Armstrong was the designated heir to Larry Pleau as Blues GM. They've done this before!
Let's go cats!
LMAO. When I saw the + and – , my brain went to gambling (payout odds of whether those players will play tonight). I don't gamble, but all the gambling talk made my brain go there.
As a hockey fan, i would love to see Patrick Laine stay healthy and find his offensive game again. He may be running out of chances to be a top 6 forward in the NHL.
Is Lanie a RW maybe Rangers should look into him.
Patrick "Fortnite" Laine is still just Fortnite Laine… Some games are good and some don't
V.I. Warsofsky, starring Kathleen Turner.
Wars of sky đđ
Laine wants outâŠbut not of his paychecks, Iâm betting. đ
Why would any team want Laine? IMO he has been a bust. Wait for his contract year where he will actually perform well looking for another big contract. Some foolish gm will cave and give him a rediculous contract only for him to not put in the effort. Trade him to the KHL.
Go Steen, go love this move
I think Laine would thrive in Vegas if somehow they'd afford him.
The oilers are gonna get pownedddd
I like that transparency from the blues. We will see if everything goes as planned but it is nice when a team is showing stability by clearly stating their upcoming plans
Bring Laine to Chicago! We have spend at least $11 million to get to the cap floor!
BARKOV IS GOOD TO GO? [gasp] đ±….next someone will tell me it gets dark at night!!
Because, I mean C'MON!!!… I'm not sure anybody could have recovered from that absolutely devastating, heinous, unbelievably horrible forearm shiver that Draisaitl delivered.
Barky must have come from the planet Krypton to absorb that Kraft marshmallow hit… and what's even more amazing?… he probably won't even play with cage… that's how otherworldly tough Barky is !!!!….especially after he needed two guys to help him off the ice.
WOW!!!…WHAT A MAN!! đđ
Steen will do well as a GM I think.
I wouldnât want Laine on my team. Heâs a big baby and doesnât play to his potential when things arenât going his way.
Man as a jackets fan itâs a shame about Laine but I canât blame him for wanting to leave. We seem to have trouble getting value out of big name players. Hopefully Waddell is the change we need
The blues are a joke at this point
1-0 last time, 48-35 overall. Picks: FLA
Re: Laine- I want Bjorkstrand back. Make the Kraken an offer they can't refuse for Bjorke.
Wonder which team Laine ends up wanting out from next.
Blackhawkâs can take the Laine contract
Edm
Record: 53-23-7
Watch Laine get traded for "future considerations" and 70% cap retained..
I've always thought 2-3-2 is the dumbest format: the series HAS to go 7 for the home ice adv team to get more home games than the other team.
Whereas with 2-2-1-1-1, the HIA team always has more, or an even number of, home games regardless of how long the series goes.
If there can be a third party brokering deal for retaining cap, would be a solid target for Devils to fill in top 6. Right handed shooter who can score, in their age range; and makes it easier to stomach trading Holtz for a goalie/defenseman. Also feels like a âwin nowâ move which GM needs to do at this point to show fans theyâre serious.. I know thereâs a lot of other positional needs, but there are two spots left in top six until Mercer is resigned and everyone else of Hughes, Hischier, Bratt, and Meier are all Lefty shooters. Could be a younger, bigger, and possibly after salary retention, more affordable Toffoli replacement.
I think Steen is too nice to be a successful GM.
Conroy did it in Calgary after he stopped playing with Jay Feaster
Talk about stability and a long term plan for the Blues.
Last time: 0-1
Overall: 38-45
Today: Oilers
Good Pollack coach
Blackhawks can take Laine on to play with bedard. Although i would be curious to see if he could rebound with jack and the devils. With the right salary retention it is high risk but high reward.
Hard to feel any type of way with the Warsofsky hiring. Just happy that it's all figured out before the draft and FA. He's a relatively young coach so hopefully that helps him relate with the young talent coming up – time will tell
Laine to Chicago?
The Laine news makes sense to me, my only concern was whether the assistance program stuff might have made it too sensitive to move him now. It simply didn't work out, and we have plenty of young wingers to fill that spot and get that ice time to develop. I didn't see him being a part of the long-term future. Waddell is saying all the right things and making a positive first impression about building things the right way with a positive people-first approach. We need the right chemistry moving forward, and that is more important than the trade return. Best wishes to him.
Warsofsky looks to be an exciting add! His AHL record is great, so hopefully that can translate to the NHL level. He's a young guy too, so perhaps he will work well with a young team like the Sharks. Hoping that 24-25 is better than this past season.
If I'm a Columbus fan I'm saying, "Thank God!" Laine's been a total bust. If this team wants to ever go anywhere they have to get rid of all the dead wood, and the deadest has been Laine. If I could get a used stick bag from another team, I'd take it just to get rid of that contract. If he goes on an scores 50 goals for another team, well, he was never going to do that in Columbus. I'm thinking we'll see him in a Montreal uniform.
I've never heard of a GM as captain–that is the real story here
2-3-2 didn't stop the 1990 Pistons.
Is he the assistant general manager or assist to the general manager?
