Guess will have to use spotrac for awhile as use in on playstation 4 NHL for my own season, which use for transactions, injuries, Line Combinations as ues multiple times a day as well , hope they bring back Cap Friendly , I use both

10th overall pick + 22 yo 7th overall pick + top prospect on team for…. 2 years of 35 yo goalie who requested a trade and can pick where he goes? That could never happen. A 27 yo Schnieder fetched no 9 overall, but that was 1 for 1 and Schneider was in his prime!
I have no clue what the caps are doing buying it… as a caps fan it confuses the hell out of me.
Rumors of high 1sts and top prospects for a soon-to-be 35-year-old are nuts. Every goalie that has been traded in a deal that included a 1st, was A) a late 1st and B) they were all under 30. The only exceptions where top 11 picks were used Schnieder for a 9th, and he was 24, and Varlamov 11th overall, and he was 22. Every other goalie was a package of mid-round picks and/or a- or b level prospects. Ullmark and Saros will get decent packages and possible high 1sts maybe, but they will be 4-6 years younger during the season.
Your comments are interesting, but your Ottawa trade ideas are way off on values. The two trades to Calgary are not close in value to each other.
Markstrom will be traded at the Sphere you can book it!! His agent and Conroy are in talks with 4 teams Devils,Canes,Leafs and Sens.. Devils are also talking to Predators and Bruins.. There is a legit chance Markstrom is traded to the Sens for the 7th overall pick no salary retained just straight up trade.. Sens want to extend Markstrom 4 yrs 30 million if this is agreed upon its a done deal..

I’ve always felt under a hard cap era, not only should the draft rounds be cut down but there shouldn’t be a draft at all. That way the owners get the hard cap they wanted and the players aren’t “owned” by teams. The PA really dropped the ball on that opportunity.
There’s no way the Devils are giving up all that for Markstrom. That would be incredibly DUMB!
Zegras for Tkatchuk is the only logical trade here

Korpisalo is a phenomenal goalie on a bad team. Markstrom is not going to improve Ottawa. Guaranteed, if Korpisalo goes to Calgary he will exceed expectations. Ottawa should keep Korpisalo.
Ok so the Devils give a 10 oa, Casey, Mercer/Holtz but the Sens only swap 2 spots, give a late 1st + a bottom pairing dman? This makes zero sense 😂
You don't see Zegras as being a potential long term replacement for Giroux or Zegras making Norris expendable? How is Norris? Haven't heard any updates. I like Norris.

Not sure I’d get rid of both first round picks for Sens. I know they’re getting 1 back in that deal but the Sens have probably the worst prospects pool in all sports. They have 1 of the best 2 forward lines and 1 of the worst 3 and 4th lines. Anyways, there was a lot of excitement for the new coach and we all know how that went…they can’t do the same thing with the goalie trade.
Markstrom is too old . Let him sit nobody wants or needs him

I think round 6 and 7 could be removed often you still see good players come from round 4-5
I wonder if a package of NJ 1st + Casey + Holtz/Mercer might have included Hanifin at the time. This would be approximately right in value I guess. Holtz (what the Devils wanted) for Markström and the 1st + Casey for Hanifin. Calgary got a 1st (not 2024) a 3rd and Miromanv from Vegas for Hanifin. Now that NJ’s 1st is 10oa and this package is again discussed it could maybe include Andersson. This would make sense for me in terms of value, however, if it would be the case, I guess we would have heard about it. I hope the Devils do not trade all these assets for Markström alone.
Screw the Capitals and their childish scheme. The NHL should mandate a new NHL run "capfriendly". I use it during the trade deadline, free agency, etc.
