When the Toronto Maple Leafs signed Mikko Lehtonen, there was some discussion saying that the signing makes Travis Dermott expendable, which I don’t agree with.
We haven’t even finished this regular season/playoffs and Dermott could come out, and contribute MASSIVELY to the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup. Maybe, just maybe.

Scince he first came, I've always loved Travis Derrmot on the Leafs, I think he should stay.
Congrats on 250!!!!!

If trading Dermott means getting PK Subban on retained salary, then sure
Damm 30 subs in a day
He should unless Toronto's willing to give him up with Johnson for a heavy hitter right shotted defenceman
If Dermott does get traded he’s getting packaged along with a Kapanen/Johnsson and potentially Bracco for a top 4 RHD
Well, Dermott isn't signed, so that adds an extra step as far as making a deal goes, but that's not insurmountable. The way I look at it, Dermott is good enough and maybe has more to show so you can't trade him unless you know what's coming back the other way is better, and who fits under the cap. So it won't be a one for one deal. How about this: Kapenen, Dermott for Ryan Ellis? Ellis doesn't have a NTC, and he's signed at 6 mil until he's 35. (29 now) . Depending on what you sign Dermott for, it might help Nashville shed a bit of salary, which in light of current economics they may be looking to do. I think we could fit Ellis under the cap, after the dust has settled.
Mitts wouldn’t bring you anything worth trading , maybe a 3/4 round pick , you’re better off keeping him and trying to get him back on track.
Bud calm down a bit and you'll get more subs.
We need to keep our good players especially Defenceman!!!
First – Signal Lost Transition. A little lower volume please.
Otherwise good take. That's about right. Really this is going to come down to how much the new contract will be. This will be a highly weighted factor in the decision.
He did okay? You' kiddin' right? CBJ played him like an amateur last playoffs.. he's physical during regular season but his vulnerability shows when it really matters which is the playoffs. The guy has to go, stop with "oh I like him since, oh I think this & that.." he does'nt make Leafs any better!
