  1. Thanks for covering the salary and CapFriendly stuff. Interesting info that's good to know. Keep up the good work. (Let's go Flyers, and let's go Gene Hart!)

  2. Egor is a solid NHL Defenseman. He is smart with the puck. Big body. He is young and will get better. I can't believe he was not drafted. As you guys know defensemen normally get better with age, I believe he falls in that category.

  3. I like Z. Much appreciated Rachel and Russ. Z isn't the only player that could benefit from some help in the development cycle. This half in, and half out thing has to stop in order for progress to happen. We all know the drill: better linemates, consistent pairings, and decent ice time are important. Plus, some breathing room is needed to be able to make some mistakes. It's all part of the learning process. Having the largest player on the ice doesn't always help. They usually have less skill, and speed. Look at Pronger. He didn't have a lot speed, and didn't have a lot of offense output. However, he had the rare qualities of leadership, strength, toughness, and awareness. That's difficult to find. We have yet to find his replacement. Also, look back at the Cup years, and they had some big guys, but they also had some medium-sized guys. It's all about balance. Sure, you can draft the largest guy, but that doesn't mean he can play consistently at the NHL level. Size and toughness is nice, but it has to be able to fill a team need, and to bring other assets to the table as well. Look at the entire package. If they resign a couple of the older players from last season, I think that they are just trying to appease one person. This may be a defining year for our GM. Can we debate how he's done this past season? Thanks again.
