Your scenario where Marner is traded completely ignores what they get in return. You’re not trading him for picks only. In no scenario are they able to get a couple of those names. You are also not winning anything with Holmberg as your 3C so you would need that upgraded via trade. Could you end up with two stud d men? Sure, Marner for Theodore and Karlsson, sign Tanev, and Brossoit. That would be an interesting way to go about it

Keep an eye on RD Brett Pesce and F Steve Stamkos and from trade rumors that leafs may have interest in Versatility Defenseman LD/RD Mario Ferraro has a 3.25m aav for 2 more season on contract and if the leafs could get the sharks to eat cap hit 25% or 50% retained leafs could get Ferraro at 2.75M aav or 1.75m aav and from trade rumors and Elliott Friedman that brad Treliveing tried to aquire Versatility Defenseman LD/RD Mario Ferraro and C Luke Kunin from the sharks for D TJ Borde and Prospect player and a pick at the trade deadline but couldn't get a deal done because TJ Borde wouldn't wave his no trade clause so brad Treliveing may look at Mario Ferraro and C Luke Kunin again in the offseason

Pesce is just another Brodie with a little offensive upside. Carolina has been physical beat in the playoffs so why sign one of the reasons they don't succeed. Andrew your 4th line is a joke and will get destroyed in the playoffs. Where did the 4th line style guy Dewar go? Playoff hockey Andrew, you do realize it is a different style game. Jarnkrok and Robertson on a playoff roster means gone in 4 games.

Get Montour and make him Captain. Also, get George (from Canada's U18 team) as a backup goaltender ast #1 draft pick and maybe then Toronto's team won't be called the "Maple Laughs" anymore.
19.5 mil in cap. Get rid of Reaves,Jarnkrok, Timmons,kampf leafs would have 26to 28 mil in cap. Bring up the kids and give them icetime. League minimum contracts.
