What’s the ref blowing the whistle for if he’s not calling a penalty? Net doesn’t come off and the pucks in the corner. Seems like the ref felt something should’ve been a penalty there but then didn’t want to call it.
Tough call, but important to keep in mind this is big boy hockey. Personally, I say no penalty. But I wouldn't be surprised if somebody felt differently.
Watch Atkinson's feet and how long they are inline with each other. Hedman just had to breathe on the guy for him to fall. I can't find video of the Seth Jones call to compare.
Considering almost the same identical play was made by Seth Jones earlier in the game, and he got a penalty for it, this should've been called no doubt. This easily could've been a game -or even series – changer for the Jackets, no questions asked
Didn’t trip him… didn’t hook him.. pushed him. Not a penalty, this isn’t soccer. I bet if he was battling in the corner he wouldn’t have gone down that easily, and the ref saw it from the best angle, didn’t rap his hand around him. I don’t see how this is a penalty in hockey. There is much nastier stuff after whistles they can crack down on, I’m a habs fan so I don’t care who makes it through.
hedman didn't hook, hold or slash. He pushed him from behind which is legal. Atikinson was gassed and hedman was all over him, when he realized that he wasn't going to score he fell to try a draw something, the refs saw right through it. In hockey you are allowed to hit/push another player when they have the puck, it is commonly referred to as "checking". I see a lot of comments saying that he was being held, which the videos clearly shows he wasn't, one of hedman's arms was on his back, and the other was using his stick to poke check the puck successfully. I'm curious which one of hedman's arms was "holding" atkinson…..
Atkinson fell to his knees faster than a cheap hooker. If you are going to race down the wing, then cut into the centre you best be able to play bigger than Hedman. Even though the attempt was made likely because he was a right shot he should have stayed outside faked going inside and got a backhand – all better than no shots at all in 5 periods of play. It was not a penalty, it was embarrassing.

Yes because they called Jones for the exact same thing earlier in the game
Yes, would of been called in any other game for sure.
It should be a penalty shot. He had a breakaway and he just got tripped
Usually not a penalty, but you can’t call that and call Seth Jones for his penalty, you gotta keep the calls consistent

This was a penalty. It should of been a penalty shot
Do you think you could make a video with all 85 of Joonas Korpisalo’s saves?

Good defense by Hedman — not a penalty.
That was just good D.
That's a penalty shot.

Pandemic or not refs still sucks in playoff!

uhh no? not a penalty. read the rules and rewatch that. that's good defense
Penalty
5th OT…
I can't even imagine how exhausted these guys must be. Can't deny their drive
100% this is a penalty. Cam was being held by Hedman, thus preventing him from getting the put on net. Blown call!
the bruins game today was a good specimen
They called Seth Jones for the exact same shit earlier in the game. It wasn’t a penalty shot, but it was still a penalty. The inconsistency is unreal.
Penalty shot

Tampa always having rough stuff in the sheets with the refs pre game
Wanted CBJ to win but this was a good “no call.”

2 minute minor. Not enough separation for a penalty shot.
