Frank Seravili reported yesterday Leon is close to signing long term deal. At least 8yrs. And so is McDavid & Bouchard. Salaries per year expected are $16mil for McD, $14 for Leon & $10 for Bouchard. Yep… Edm will spend $40 mil per year to keep this core together for 8 more years.

I don't agree that Draisaitl is one of the two best players in the world… He is a powerplay specialist, but resembles a stationary medieval trebuchet. He constantly resorts to the same tactics, like well-aimed centering passes and shot attempts from the goalline. As amazing and effective as these plays can be, they are easy to read and can easily be interrupted by cup contending teams like the Panthers… The strong forechecking and defensive stability of Florida made Draisaitl look lost: He is neither a particularly good skater, nor exceptionslly technically skilled: If he's got no room to handle the puck, he is useless. He is strategically minded, I'll have to give him that, but certainly not beyond the skills of Barkov e.g.

Rumour has it, Oilers are already working on locking down McDavid, Draisaitl, and Bouchard. Rumour got as detailed as $16m for McDavid, $14m for Draisaitl, and $10m for Bouchard; all max terms.
