Edmonton took a 2-0 lead in the first before Vladimir Tarasenko got the Panthers back into it.
The Oilers led 3-1 after the first and 5-1 when goalie Sergei Bobrovsky was pulled in favor of Anthony Stolarz.

i really asked a lot of my freinds and we all really would have been thrilled if they won tonight but we all really wanted them to clinch at home we deserve that for all the years they sucked and we stood by them!

Florida losing 8-1 is better than them losing 2-1 in OT. Maurice now has some talking points about them not being complacent.
Panthers will get it done in game 5. I expected this to be a lobsided affair. Oilers were going to be fighting for their lives and Panthers were looking to squeak one out with minimal effort. Hard to find that urgency when you're up 3-0 in a series. They will have it in game 5 and we'll really see if the Oilers deserve to get back into this series.

Its going to be hilarious if the Oil pull off the seemingly impossible. Last team to win by the previous record margin was 9-3 Toronto over Wings in 1942, also the last time a team overcame a 3-0 deficit in the SCF.
