It wasn’t a complete blowout, they only had two less shots on goal, so they were putting them on net, just got to stop the rushes and turnovers.
Too much confident on this 4 th game. And they let BoBro… by him self. Mentally, each player rather win at home so they didn’t make the second effort…….
Panther forecheck was extremely off and it allowed Edmonton to play suckhole like Dallas. You have to get to pucks first or start skating in possessions and forcing Oilers to stay home and trying to defend. You can't allow them to leave their wings floating out at red line or even the blueline which creates the stretch pass issue.
One game noting to worry about
Given that Florida D pinches in alot, and there is such an emphasis on the forecheck, it was just a matter of time until the Oilers and Knobloch figured out how to exploit that approach. Long stretch passes, and burn the Cats with their speed. It will be interesting to see how the Panthers and Maurice adapt. I do think Bob needed some rest. Stolarz looked solid.
One adaptation would be 'first on the puck". The Panthers weren't,. They were a little slow, and it cost them.

1— Florida's Arena looks and sounds like a quiet Library compared to Edmonton.
2—Bobrofsky is 35 years old, looks tired…and looks BEATABLE!!!…They have cracked Bobby.
3—-Panthers Powerplay is non-existence.
4–Panthers are not used to extensive travel and jumping time zones frequently….The Oilers are used to it.
The longer the series keeps jumping back and forth 4,000 KM'S…..the more interesting it gets.
5—The Panthers are supposed to be bigger, tougher and more intimidating…..Oilers do not look scared or intimidated at all.
Obviously, at the end of the day, to be honest….

8-1 is embarrassing… How would a team bounce back from that? Florida always gives up a lot of goals in big games. Every series this season 5 or more goals. Last year vs Vegas… The team doesn’t seem worried like it’s okay to lose 8-1.
