Last Minute Blues Podcast – Ep. 181 – David Perron
Former Blues & 2019 Stanley Cup champion, David Perron, joins Donny Fandango, Jeremy Rutherford, and Alex Ferrario to reminisce about the Stanley Cup run to celebrate the 5-year anniversary.
He absolutely should be in the Blues Hall of Fame one day, both for his career, and for his love of and dedication to the team, the city and the fans. He's beloved for good reason. Let's Go Blues!
I absolutely was excited like a kid when I saw David Perron on this podcast. He is literally the reason I started following the Blues. I hope somehow he makes his way back to St Louis before he’s done in the NHL. The guy just brings it and plays with so much grit and passion.
At first glance I thought Perron had maybe come home again. I have grown up on Blues hockey since Hull and the early 80's. David Perron belongs in St. Louis period. Bring him home and put him in the front office with Steen, Macinnis and Army. Absolute rink rat that loves the game. One of the truest Blues I have had the pleasure of watching all these years. Thank you for everything David. All the best to you no matter what comes next.
I used to be an usher for Enterprise. During the Cup winning season, after a game we were going to get our picture taken on the ice. They took us around in the belly of Enterprise to enter the ice through the player's bench. We saw David Perron walking the opposite direction on our way to the bench. Some of us where like, "Hey, David!" as we were walking by him. Not bugging him for an autograph or anything like that, just saying hello. He turned around and thanked us for what we do and said he really appreciated us. I've always thought that it was so cool of him to do that. Keith Tkachuk is also really nice to support staff like that. I was scanning tickets at the All-Star game that Matthew and Brady were in. Here comes Walt with a bunch of tickets on his phone and his entire extended family. I mean his wife, and daughter, and parents, etc. Ticket scanner can't get a good read on his tickets and I have trouble scanning them. He's got a big group to get in but he was so patient with me and just smiled and didn't seem frustrated with me at all. He could rightfully have an ego, but he doesn't. Those guys get it. They are the real deal. 💙 Bring David home, Steener!!!!
