Gorden Tallis broke down in tears in speaking about his great friend Kevin Walters on the eve of his son Billy’s NRL debut for the Storm.
Walters, whose first wife Kim died after a long battle with cancer, presented his son Billy with his first NRL jersey on Thursday night.

Kevin Walters lost his wife to cancer, she died on Christmas Day many years ago. He raised his three sons as a single Dad. He’s since remarried, but it’s still incredibly raw for all involved. Gordon is a lovely bloke. He said whenever I needed help or a job he’d always be there for me. Used to work with I’m at ch9.

Its beautiful to see how well these players know each other. I think when Gordie saw those shots of baby billy walters there with his dad touched him deeply. I know it touched me to see billy now playing first grade under his father. Its beautiful to see.
