Its the Tavares situation that might allow the Leafs some wiggle room, he isn't an 11 million dollar player anymore. Maybe a polite conversation with him regarding his future and the possibility of passing the captaincy to Austen, is one change the Leafs can make while still extending Marner. Mitch is Leaf for life in my opinion. It's the Tavares situation that needs to be sorted
