  1. IF isles keep pick (and something fkn crazy like parekh dropping to 20 happens) some 'experts' say they should take j. luchanko, a fast center from guelph. Also could take if available l. greentree-windsor, a big skilled forward who doesn't go hard all the time. Also draft riser b. senneca-oshawa, another forward that could be there at 20. M. vanaker a skilled lw, brantford late first, early second could be worth a shot at 20, or second. S o' reilly, forward london as well. Isles could look at connelly too. A skilled guy with a few flags dropping down the board. Isles need forward upgrade with speed, skill. These forwards offer some of that. If isles want to go d 67's d man h. mews may be there at 20. Of course if isles keep 20 in typical louzer form will take a third, fourth round 'reach' with 20.
It probably doesn't matter. That pick will be long gone before isles have a chance to take it. Maybe for ehlers. And word is louzer is working on moving 44, easier to move than more expensive 27 at $5.5×2. So that takes care of one or both of seconds to dump 44 in deal. So isles thanks to the wasted third for 18 may be looking at no picks in first three rounds. This draft with lack of superstar types as of now could be very unpredictable. Don't know who could fall on draft night as louzer snoozes having said bye bye to pick 20. Better off focusing on '25 forward loaded misa/spence/hagens draft and getting assets for 29,21 at tdl. Use '24 picks to rid isles of 44, 27 and buy some cap room since isles wont get an impact player even if they keep 20 pick. Can go for top end talent in '25 draft by using 29/21 as tdl bait for picks when a desperate gm may ante up. That plus a fall off into lottery territory would help. No way to improve, get cap relief, and build up prospect base at same time in one draft. One must be sacrificed for the other thanks to louzer.

  2. Gil, I think we will be lucky if senile Lou even makes one of those three picks. They’re as good as gone as far as I’m concerned. Unless Roy really does have a say and starts building for the future. Only the islanders bury a twenty three year old defenseman who is 6’4” and 220. Just to bring back a journeyman defenseman. Re-sign Reilly and trade Pelech! lol

  3. This year's draft is supposed to be a very very weak draft. We are picking 20th which means whoever we pick will need on avg 4+ before they make an impact

Best case scenario we draft a player that develops into a C-/C+ player . In other words a bottom 6 forward.

We have enough of those players

Rather if we take our pick and trade it for Trevor zegras or Pierre Luc DuBois or Ehlers to me that makes more sense

Scouts say next year's draft staking up to be loaded which at the draft deadline we need to move plams and Nelson etc…

  4. Lou sees no reason the last 4 years to keep the first round pick. So you are spot on Gil ! Might as well make it 5 years! Number 20 is not going to help now! Lou is a now guy! It will be traded again but for Who? Thanks Gil

  5. Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? I'm glad you're feeling better. I hope Lou Lamoriello doesn't trade this first round pick. Terreck Pare? nice size 18 years old, and he's still got some growing to do. He can can put the puck in the net, he can play smart 🏒 like somebody else we know. I'm glad this is a mock draft, and not the real draft. Samuel Bouldoc, 2 goals, 5 points negative +- he's tentative he's only 23 years old, and he needs to get his confidence back. HAPPY 🎂 DEAN MCCAMMUM. He had a respectable career. THE PANTHERS GOT DECLAWED SATURDAY NIGHT I'M GLAD FEEL ASLEEP and missed it. Hear from you later. Gil, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  6. It is highly important what you do without the puck. For an average forward, they might play 15 minutes, but only have the puck on their stick for less than 30 seconds.

  7. I'd be inclined to move Pelech for Ehlers..leaving a left side of Romanov, Reilly, Bolduc/Aho (right side: Pulock, Dobson, Mayfield). Move out Pageau and sign DeBrusk.
    Ehlers-Horvat-Barzal
    DeBrusk-Nelson-Palmieri
    Lee-Cizikas-Holmstrom
    Engvall-McLean-Fasching

  8. Good morning team. I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed Father's Day. Thank you, Gil. It was another great episode of Locked On Islanders. Just between you and I, I've trolled some of the other Locked On shows. The way you deliver the information you give us is miles above some of the others. Now it may be I'm just used to your way, but I like that you give the facts without sugar coating anything. That's what keeps me coming back. As for the topic of the day. We know what Lou is going to do. You've said many times, he is a win now GM. I would love the team to start from scratch and build the kind of team that will terrorize the NHL for several years to come, but we know Lou won't do that. Win now means he gives up the 1st round pick for a player that is already established and playing good hockey at the NHL level. What does everyone else think? Everyone have a great day! See you all again next time. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  9. Absolutely Gil there is a big gap between the Isles and the 2 teams still playing now. Lou would have to pull off some kind of miracle to have us contending next year. LGI

  10. ideally it would be great for the Isles to get an impact player at 20. realistically if they keep all three picks it will be about building organization depth. I think Lou can go either which way. I know many people don't like the Engvall contract but he's young only making 3mil a year you could package both 2s with Engvall and make a deal with a team in bind. they do have depth in net- don't think they're going to carry three goalies do you move Varlamov? they have players with allot of experience with contracts that expire in 1 to 2 years a team looking for veteran leadership/character would have to talk to the Islanders.
