“Though there is belief there is a pre-arranged deal for the Sharks to claim Goodrow, who spent the first six seasons of his NHL career in San Jose”

Would make a lot of sense. Former Shark, fans love him there, and they need guys to eat up cap space to reach the floor

  1. What does that even mean “prearranged deal”? Sounds like something you can’t exactly do.

  2. Drury making a big brain GM move while that guy makes a whole post that waiving Goodrow is “the beginning of the end” for Drury lol

Getting Goodrow off the books leaves about $12.5M for Schneider, Lindgren/LD and a RW if you slot Othmann into the lineup. Thats enough money to make this team deeper, which imo is the most important thing going into next season.

This would make a lot of sense for San Jose. He still has a lot of love among Sharks fans, they would get a veteran leader for their young team, and a potential trade piece at the deadline for more draft capital. They can’t retain salary this season because they already have three of those on the books, but they could in 2025-26 when Burnsie comes off.

Assuming Goody is able to recapture *some* of his regular season value in the next two years, I could see him getting traded to a contender for a late-round pick – maybe higher with 50% retained.

Mike Grier doing his buddy Drury a solid after he helped get him into a GM position, you love to (reportedly) see it.

if that’s the case then…bravo move for everyone, assuming that goodrow was made aware.

Wherever he goes, I just hope he’s successful, I know he wasn’t what many want on the Rangers, and alot of the criticism is valid, but I was still always a fan of him.

holy fark did drury send a milly to the boys in san jose or something? they are gonna bail him out bigtime

  9. Who cares as long as he is off the books for next year. This is addition by subtraction.

BU connection between Drury and Grier, played together. Bros being bros.

  11. This would be absolutely amazing. I’ll believe it when I see it

So… could they also arrange to give him back for the playoffs?
