  1. They got his cap down with the term. Now, I'm of two minds. He was on the shelf when they got him, and look at his GPs since entering the league: 46, 65, 56, 78, 64, 81 — but wrapped and diminished for half of that season. Not exactly durable at 26, what he's going to be like in a couple of years? I can understand this signing because he's good when he's good, and they didn't have any practical options. I'm just crossing my fingers that they get a few solid seasons.

  2. Also consider the ancillary benefit of Having Hronek under wraps: it should help the nucks re-sign Hughes in 3 years.

  3. It's a good deal. The cap is going to go up. In a few years a top 4 RHD at $7.2 mill per is going to look like a good deal.

  4. I like it! I know you guys probably hate it.. Given how he dunked on your boy Jeff but..
    Solid job by management! 👏

  5. Most of the guys talk in front of the media about how much they love Vancouver, the organization and how much they want to stay. When it comes to it, at some point the rubber needs to meet the road! This is one of those contracts! Hronek took a discount and committed long term. The Hughes and Hronek pairing were one of the most dynamic defensive offensively minded duo's last season, if not the best. That's a elite pairing locked down for at least the next 3 seasons before Hughes will need to get re-signed.
