It was a necessity If we're going to be serious about getting over the hump , goody had a great post season but it's not sustainable the cap space is needed elsewhere.
Time to move on they’ve out grown his contract there’s needs to be more guys moved to open up more space and some way they need to find a way to trade Mika

If there's one team (besides Toronto) who could claim Barclay Goodrow, it's San Jose. 1) Goodrow started his career there and had success. 2) He'd be a veteran, defensive presence on their bottom six for the worst defensive team in the league (and one of the youngest). 3) Mike Grier and Chris Drury go back to their BU days — SJ would be awarded Goodrow if they put in a claimer, as they finished 32 in the NHL this season. 4) San Jose has approximately $30M in cap space to fill holes — picking up Goodrow would address one of them. 5) He's 31, not 35.
He'll get claimed by tomorrow.
This shows their hand. They’re going to trade him if he clears and his value just went down. Only way this makes sense is if Drury already tried to trade him and couldn’t.

Goodrow was one of the best Ranger players in the playoffs,this was a bad move.
Tanner Glass played with WolfPack for a whole season and came up and produced in playoffs
It’s difficult to trust a locker room that voted Trouba as its captain
Mika and Kreider need to step up or be moved. Its sad that the guy who was all heart all playoffs long is gone, and guys who disappeared and were intimidated in the Florida series. Cut Chytil. Goodrow should have been 3rd line center.
Is there any team with more players that you can't give away because of their salaries than the Rangers?
So they waive a guy who played his best during the playoffs and you have a guy making 8 million didn’t score, took several penalties and he’s still around? Why??
