How in the fk can louzer buy out two players in one off-season? It cost two seconds to dump leddy (only after getting 2 for toews) then one of those seconds plus a third went to dump ladd. Do 44, 27 have any value to a team because no one can pick either one up just to stash on ltir if not injured. I look at a team like hawks young team with lots of cap $$$'s who may want lee for vet net front presence no top six duty but not at $7 mill. with 2 years left so isles would have to eat salary to do it. Same with 44. sj has been mentioned. They are looking for a vet center on a young roster as well but not at $5.5 mil. with two years left. Salary retainment as well. Louzer would have to eat a lot of salary and start going into future picks with one or both '24 seconds to do that. Hawks and utah yotes have plenty of picks and cap room but aren't looking to add picks now. Utah has so many picks next two drafts in round 1-3 they can't possibly take them all and will be looking to deal some for upgrades. Unless one can go in deal for a scorer i don't see how louzer can dump both 44 and 27. One this off-season-yes. Both no. Or louzer could use the buyout period and buy one out. 44 because he can play third line c, take face-offs, and pk duty would have more value than 27 but not at $5.5×2. 27 may have to wait till next season. You need to find a team needing $$$'s to get to the cap min. that has a need for 44 or 27. Contenders lack either cap space or assets especially after ufa $$$'s are used up to deal for either. Van. and canes with a bunch of ufa's/rfa's could end up needing some players after ufa period. Tuff one for louzer the victim of his own cap mismanagement.

Well we will find out if LL will buyout any current contracts within the next week or so because to do so the player has to go through waivers. So if Lee or Pageau or anyone else hits the waiver wire it will be for that reason, that being said, buyouts are another management tool that the old man historically has not employed.
