  1. Scoring 4 points in a game is outstanding.
Scoring 4 points in a playoff game is phenomenal.
Scoring 4 points in back to back playoff games is…. There really isn't a word for it.
I'm not an Oilers fan but McDavid is the best hockey player that has ever lived. And that's not hyperbole.

  2. If the Oilers win it in 7 this'll be the greatest individual performance in a playoffs ever. Mount Rushmore stuff.

  3. Panther fans have a couple good thing that they should be happy about tkachuk is producing again which should scare oiler fans that second line is on fire along with it was such a close game down to the final second and the panthers of the third period and the last 7 minutes of the second period looked like the panthers from round 1-3 it could have just been they let themselves get too deep into a hole so game 6 should be much better oilers are gonna get tired

  4. Part of what can make the Stanley cup finals so interesting to watch.
I thought florida had it all locked down. Then the oilers run amuck and surge to life making the big cats fall back a bit.
Game 4 was a slaughtering of one team. Last night was a battle and while Edmonton kept the overall edge Florida showed they still really want to win. It was a good game to watch and makes me anticipate watching games 6.
I picked Florida as to who i wanted out of the two to win.
But Edmonton definitely showed up to remind everyone why they are the other team there fighting for the cup.
Congrats to what mcdavid is accompishing on the record books. Because i don't watch much of him i tend to forget just how insanely good he is at being a point producer.

Lots of amazing play from both sides and a good many of the players are really going to that next level of effort and determination. Love playoff and Stanley cup hockey.

  5. I have a running bet with my workmates. After Edmonton lost 3, bet they would win last 4. I also called the scores.
    7-1 game 4
    5-4 game 5
    3-0 game 6
    and for game 7
    6-2

  6. Sorry nooooo. I don't want any Canadian team win the Cup except for the Leafs. I'm not a hockey fan, I'm a Leafs fan since 1959. No way, ,, Oilers.

  7. I hate to see a home team blow a 3-0 series but looking at the complete animals that are florida fans I’ll make an exception

  8. On a side note I always thought after the 2012 Final that the Devils fought hard for that Game 4 and then the Kings didn’t wanna win that Game 5 because they wanted it at home. Kinda like what the Panthers did in Game 4 and now it seems like it’s slowly bitting them back

  9. I belivie the oilers can drag this to game 7
But even if they lose game 6
Just gotta say the team really surprised me I really thought they were gonna get swept and they really showed all of us why to never count the oilers out.

  10. Mcdavid is better than Gretzky and im tired of pretending otherwise, Gretzky went up to beer league equivalents Mcdavids going against 5 Gretzkys

  11. This reminds me of the habs vs canes round 2 series in 2002. 3 games in and the habs looked like they were going to dominate. Theodore looked rock solid and the canes didn't seem to have an answer… until game 4. Game 4 they eked out a win in OT and after that it seemed like the floodgates opened and they had completely solved Theodore and the series was done in a blowout. Could be the same with Bob in this series

  12. If the Oilers come back to win, their season becomes the best story of the modern era of hockey.

The series would be the perfect microcosm of their entire season — a team that everyone gave up on, rallying back to defy every logical expectation, fueled by one of the greatest players to ever lace them up and a supporting cast that never stopped believing.

  13. Looks like the Panthers haven’t found the killer instinct. They do have the “escape from danger, rabbit out of a hat” instinct, though. I wonder if, now that all the pressure is on them, they’ll actually show up in Edmonton when everyone thinks the Oilers are just going to walk them.

  14. Very good recap of the game, as usual. What bothers me though, are all those comments about the Leafs. It's over, they lost, they are losers. I was in Montréal a few days ago and the city has gone crazy supporting the Oilers, Canada's team.

  15. Said this in the watch-stream last night, but it's been nearly THIRTY YEARS since a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup (Canadians vs. Kings, 1993), and if the Oilers somehow counter-sweep the Panthers, they will have made a hell of a mark in SCF history.

Fun fact as well, since 1993, only FIVE Canadian teams have reached the SCFs, only to Lose the Cup (Canucks in 1994 vs Islanders & 2011 vs. Bruins; Oilers in 2006 vs. Hurricanes; Flames in 2004 vs. Lightning; Senators in 2011 vs. Ducks; Canadians in 2021 vs. Lightning).

  16. Was that a Steven Dangle "guarantee" that the Oilers will lose the series???? We all know what happens when you make predictions like that Steve. We still love you but well ..

  17. Will it happen? Probably not.

But if it does we are in the midst of the greatest moment in hockey history. I want everyone to understand that.

In the other major sports they have their moment, the NFL had 28-3 with Tom Brady, the NBA had 3-1 with the Lebron James, and the MLB had 3-0 with the Red Sox.

Those series were Star and league defining moments. Moments where the greatest of all time had there moment to shine. And to focus just on the NFL and NBA ones, moments where either sports “goat” defined why people say that when referring to their legacy.

If this happens, the Panthers lose the next two games, and the Oilers win. Not only will it be iconic for Edmonton winning, Canada finally winning, and a 3-0 reverse sweep. But it will be iconic for McDavid having the greatest series in NHL history, and will be talked about forever.

So please hockey gods, let this happen it would be so friggin funny.

  18. Give me 7 games plzz. We either see the biggest choke job in history of a final or see a team crawl back giving hope to just lose it anyways… grab the popcorn

  19. Edmonton is 2 wins from a cup and all Edmonton fans can talk about is Matthews. You would think they would be enjoying a Stanley cup final and their team being 2 wins from a cup. Crazy.
