As always, it depends on the plan and the return. You can’t really plan to go into next year with Soderblom as the #1 and you can’t give up your only solid starting goalie for less than a first. Calgary has a succession plan in place, so it made a lot of sense there. It doesn’t really make as much sense for the Hawks unless the return is something you can’t say no to.

Would be a really frustrating year to not have any confidence in goal whatsoever.
