When you hung venison by the head that has been dead for a few hours the brain is already rotting and rot goes down in to the shoulder meat and back strips you don't see it but your meat gets contaminated by the rot of the brain.

Never leave an animal over night if u scared of the dark you shouldnt be a hunter over my dead body would i leave an animal in the woods. I have lost animals that way to other animals and also to people.
