Only three starting goalies aged 30 or older have been traded for 1sts in the last 15 years:

  • Markstrom to NJ for 1st, Bahl
  • Kuemper to COL for 1st, 3rd, Timmins
  • Miller and Ott to STL for 1st, 3rd, Halak, Stewart, Carrier

Markstrom was the oldest at the time of his trade.

    I think this just shows how solid the trade was. I think the markstrom trade is almost exactly like the Kuemper trade who was 30 or 31 at the time. Even the Kuemper trade the coyotes knew they were getting a very late 1st abd Timmins had multiple concussions at that point so his stock fell.
