started here with uh our first topic of discussion and that is the entire season as a whole guys uh the Bruins finished uh with better than last year I’d say 47 wins 20 losses 15 extra time losses but they finished in the second round this year instead of the first round uh gentlemen what are your thoughts on how the Bruins finished and what they can do to improve that going into next year um well for me being the transition year that it was a lot of questions needed to be answered um for me the biggest one was Matthew ptra whether he could play in the NHL question answered is John beer an NHL player question answered can Jeremy Swan carry the load for the B Bruins going forward question answered um you know you go up and down lot a lot of questions were answered um one of them we’ll get to a little later one of them my biggest pet peeves last season is after John Gruden left they uh didn’t have a coach to coach the defenseman on the on the bench uh that really irked me I think one of the biggest reasons why we saw the defenseman as a whole take a dip so question answered um you know for a transition year everything we need it know God answered yeah same here um pretty much the same you know Jim Montgomery got dealt a um a different hand of cards uh than the previous previous year um obviously and you know the salary cap had the had its constraints again with the Boston Bruins but they they persevered with that by getting multiple pieces in free agency and and put together a team that in my opinion was just above gonna hold water their NOS were above water probably get into the playoffs as a wild card too that’s where I expected but this past year they went beyond expectations they overachieved in my opinion and and it was a really good year you know top of the well not the top but you know up in the ranks in the Atlantic division and the Eastern Conference they get into the playoffs there’s a box check for me make the playoffs be a consistent playoff team but then they went above and beyond they beat Toronto which is awesome I love love saying that it’s great and and they went into the um second round so you know another Bo check for me is you know you made the second round of the postseason now this year is going to be different now we have a ton of cap space to work with it it seems like a lot but when you actually put everything together it’s really not that much but still it provides enough enough space to like really put something together in my opinion I see next year being a very very productive year uh possibly going even further um you know I would like to see the the third round or and I’m really hoping for a Stanley Cup but you know we’ll see what that remains to be seen but I do like what what I saw from last year with what you know the organization had to deal with and I’m really excited for this off season to see how they respond absolutely the Bruins have a lot of money to spend this summer they have as of this moment approximately $20 million to spend this summer they’re most likely from what I’ve seen they’re probably going to need another a a top Center um since Coy and zaka they’re fantastic but I’m not so sure if they’re number one centers I’m I just I’m not convinced I don’t think zaka is consistent enough at the faceoff dot to be considered a center at least a top Center in the league um on the team um they might need to go get that um they’re gonna need to lock up Jeremy Swan long term which I think they will definitely get hopefully get done soon um and they need to fill out their roster that’s what I think they they need to do um make sure they have a good enough team to compete next year get back into the postseason again and maybe as you said maybe get a little deeper into the postseason maybe a Conference Final appearance hell maybe a Stanley Cup Final appearance for all we know I don’t know but maybe um you know just I want to see improvement from the rookies lorai beer ptra um all those guys who I hope all make the team next year I want to see them all have more of a deeper and uh more prominent role at the team next year yeah lot of moves to come I like I I want to add a center I want to add a Winger you’re going to need a Winger if if to breast goes we’ll talk in a little bit Yeah and ideally you want another left shot defenseman who can play on the third pair bring some jam and spell lorai some time up on the top you with maab boy uh so you know asking 82 games of Mason Loro on the top pair might be a little bit much so those are the three ads that I would look at maybe uh a veteran goal tender for a million bucks that you can stash away in the AHL just in case uh you know you don’t have at that price you don’t have to worry about the cap because it’s buried anyway so uh yeah there’s it’s going to be an interesting uh free agent frenzy absolutely um do you guys think that if they don’t go if if we were we’re g to talk about wmar in a bit but if they don’t uh sign that veteran like you said Dom do you think Brandon busy is ready to be a backup in this league do you think he’s ready because that’s the rumor that you think so what one of the two will whether it’s busy or DPO right uh but I think busy is ready same here I I you know I’m no expert by any stretch but by watching his games um how he is with character interviewing him several times writing articles about him I feel comfortable enough and I like the idea that um him being up which is a salary cap savings as well you get a really good young goenda that to me is an is the upand comer regardless of of when um swinging gets uh signed and what term uh Brandon’s a young goenda that that’s worked extremely hard and he and if I’m not mistaken he probably only took a week off this off season and he’s at stop at goal tending in wber Massachusetts right now probably working on his game for next year because he’s got bigger expectations um this kid see seems to rise up every level that he that he attends and and we’ve seen it in the minor Pros um I’m excited for him and I hopefully he sticks around uh he remains to be unsigned right now but I’m sure that that’s probably going to be um due to what’s going on with the two golender at the NHL level currently but I’m sure we’ll dive into that later on yeah um it says he’s an RFA so we’ll see what that will look like um I I suspect um that if they deal olar they’ll probably resign him I would assume they only need 22 games out of them right they only need like a few games out of out of busy they only need him there it can be like Swan starts two busy starts one kind of a deal that’s what I think he could that’s I think we could see and give Swan more experience and also gives busy more time to um develop in the league and get some uh quity NHL minutes and I think they’ll pick his opponents very very carefully they’ll watch The backto Backs you know he’ll get the games like Chicago San Jose uh Utah those kind of games absolutely well we were just talking about him so let’s let’s uh change topics here uh there is a lot of rumors and speculation going on right now about lenus omark if he will be traded where he’ll end up what the return could possibly be umark coming off uh two seasons ago A vzna Trophy winning campaign this past season uh kind of a dip down but still obviously a phenomenal goenda could end up and what could a possible return look like for Omar Dom I know you mentioned you had some has some stuff about that what do you have for omark so this was just before we went live so uh credit to Bruce garok of the Ottawa son who’s been all over this for a couple of weeks there have been multiple conversations between Steve stos the uh general manager of the Ottawa Senators and Don Sweeney uh Bruins General manager um I can tell you that Ottawa is on all marks no trade list so he would have to wave but the there are negotiations uh we have to remember that um Daniel alfredson is in Ottawa uh a fellow swed uh to allmark who could be a big voice in convincing allmark to wave to go there uh Ottawa will want to talk contract contract extension and um the price is still the the trade is still being negotiated what the moving pieces will be interesting stuff coming out there so um obviously we were talking about this earlier if they were to deal olark what I’m not asking for what you know I’m asking for what you think what could a possible return in your mind look like for Omar what do you think the Bruins could get back whether he goes to Ottawa or somewhere else what could a general return look like for Omar I don’t really want to speculate Sam that’s not something that I’ve ever done I try to avoid doing that um but with Ottawa it could be either their own first round pick or it could be getting the Bruins first round pick back plus a prospect um that’s Ottawa if it’s another team it could be something totally different um we know with markstrom off the market um UC Soros apparently close to reaching an extension with uh Nashville uh Darcy keer going to La has kind of taking La off the market um but with with go tenders dropping we all know what what the market is for a go tender so if if you have X number teams looking for a goal tender and only one available we know what happens to the price it just goes up right yeah for we’re going to catch up those up to speed who don’t know what happened Jacob markstrom was dealt from the Calgary Flames of the New Jersey Devils today for a 2025 first round pick and defenseman Kevin ball um and Darcy keer was traded to to the LA Kings from the Washington Capitals in exchange for Pierre Luke dubuis um it was a one forone deal there which I yeah we got Sam’s Frozen or I’m frozen no you’re we’re good we we we just all froze for a second I think we’re all good though okay we’re all good but as I was saying um so Dubois for keer one for one deal um no retention no retention no salary retention it’s literally the capitals are taking an extra three million on for um for du and the Kings save themselves a couple of million bucks there and getting Darcy keer who will most likely be their number one starter next year am I wrong no you’re right got to add to Sam that the draft pick in the markr deal is top 10 protected right yeah um for me the price for allar is low um and I know that i’ I’ve been fighting a lot of the internet folk um on this um yes he’s a great goenda I understand how fans can value get value out of that you know uh he should get a a first round pick and uh you know a center and something else for him but that’s that’s just unlikely um the way the goenda these days goenda their value so they’re not GNA go and make a huge Splash uh for a net minder I’m sorry if you believe that but unfortunately that’s the way the business is these days for me I want to build a team and I want the funds to do it so my thing is I would really like to see him move if obviously New Jersey’s off the table but if the scenario was going to happen like this if New Jersey was willing to move the first round pick for allar one for one I do it in a heartbeat two reasons you get draft Capital you get back into the first round which we seems like we haven’t been in in like 82 years the second thing is that’s $5 million off your books that you can go now and spend more money in free agency to actually build a winner and that’s kind of my thing on it as much as I would love to see a hall for allmark I honestly don’t think that’s going to happen me neither maybe a first round pick if we’re lucky I I mean that would be ideal but you know I I’m looking for cap space here is what I’m looking for that’s um I don’t know if I if you guys agree I’m looking for cap space more than that more than anything I’m also of the belief and I’ve said this going back to last season um and Don Sweeney hinted at it at uh the end of season presser is if he doesn’t get who he wants in free agency he’s holding on to both discussing some we’re going to be uh answering your questions so hold your questions to the to the end of the show we’ll answer your questions and what you guys have to ask us um moving on to our next subject of discussion uh we’re gon to talk about Jake debrusk Jake debrusk um he’s another one that is kind of up in the air right now he is uh his contract is up he’s a unrestricted free agent uh as of July 1st um you know de Brusque he’s kind of been up and down with the Bruins since he arrived with the Bruins in the 178 season his best season was two seasons ago when he had 27 goals and 50 points in the season and he had a phenomenal playoff run the past two years um do you guys think this is the last we’ve seen of Jake debrusk in the black and gold or do you think he’ll get a contract this summer I I don’t think he’s coming back um my honest opinion is um and I’m getting I’m cherry-picking this from several different people that have written about it and talked about it on their own podcast as well is that if a player traditionally in Boston if the player is not signed within the season um I don’t I don’t believe that they’re coming back so I think that uh Jak de brus is going to test free agency obviously that U we’re you know very short time away from J July 1 um and uh I heard on the uh Missing curfew hockey podcast with Shane O’Brien and Scotty Upshaw uh they had Louie debrus Jake’s father on and of course Louie wasn’t GNA give anything but he did say that you know Jake is very optimistic on where he’s gonna end up but he loves Boston obviously would love to stay but Louie did say that he’s very excited to see what other teams in the NHL think of his value and and you know what he could get uh whether it be uh money and term elsewhere so you know um I think Jake’s very motivated to see what’s going on regardless if he stays in Boston or not uh the latest iard on it was that the Gap had closed not close close enough to make a deal imminent but enough to keep the lines of communication open and um you know to play off what Mark said on on Lou’s words um the curiousness to see what else is offered out there could also be a negotiation Ploy where um you know let’s use Tyler puszi as an example the Bruins offered him five years $5 million and he thought he could get better someplace else and lo and behold he couldn’t what did he get a one-year deal worth five billion bucks um so um you know he he could go to free agency see that the market isn’t where he and his agent thinks it is and turn back to the Bruins would I put money on that happening no but it’s a possibility I mean it’s I can’t rule anything out with this guy uh the trade request a couple years ago descended he comes back and he plays some really good hockey two seasons ago last this past season back to what we were kind of seeing before a little bit more of inconsistency um he gets hot at certain times um but he’s a playoff performer and I think that the Bruins are looking for more of those type guys like Jake debrusk where they perform well in the postseason but I think they also need some guys to perform well in the regular season as well as well as the playoffs and I think if de brus can get that consistency it would be great but ideally I don’t think de Brusque will come back either I I think debrus will probably think that he probably is worth maybe a little more than what he might actually get I I hate to say that but it’s probably is what it it probably is what it is if you guys agree with that he might think he’s worth a little more than what he get than what he might actually get I I mean I don’t know I could see him getting five somewhere or even in Boston if he’s signed um right but I I also think it’s important to to understand too that a lot of people don’t like Jake debrus because of his inconsistencies on the score sheet and and I that’s a valid valid you know gripe but if you look at his game totals when you uh go to nhl.com and look at his player profile his he is consistent 16 17 minute player throughout the year right around those numbers I’m not going to you know be 100% accurate on my take here but if a player was you know not if a Coach was not happy with a certain player you would see his minutes drastically go down game by game even get sat and so on so it seemed to me J uh that Jim Montgomery had a lot of trust in him to work his way out of the funk that he’s in but also keep in mind mind he was still good at the for check he was still good at others U sides of the game away from the park that a lot of people neglect to actually see um which he can also be streaky on that side as well but I just like the way that Jim M gy handled this was to give him as many minutes as as possible to try to work it out and he was still in my opinion still effect an effective player throughout the year um regardless of those inconsistencies yeah I think the Brasa is going to get more than five million on the open market yeah I could see that yeah I I think he’s going to come into the six and a half to seven range somebody’s going to pay it it won’t be Boston though it won’t be Boston I don’t think so either I don’t think the Bruns are willing to give to rust that money people in the chat are saying that they think that they think debrus is gone too so we’ll see what happens with that um who knows who knows what who knows what to Brusque will uh de Brusque will get stranger things have happened yeah I’ve seen some crazier stuff before so you can’t you can’t really predict anything until July 1 when free agency opens up and that’s when all hell breaks loose and everything happens so who knows um well moving on to a different discussion uh the Bruins brought back an old friend as one of their assistant coaches to the to the uh to the NHL staff Jay leech coming back as the as an assistant coach previously spending time with the Seattle Kraken as an as an assistant coach for Dave haxall staff out there um he was the former coach of the Providence Bruins for a few years um Jay leech where do you see him fitting in on the coaching staff um he’s probably going to be taking over the defense I’d imagine right yeah oh yeah yeah like I said earlier it irked me that the bruids didn’t have a coach for that he was sitting upstairs watching uh and to me that’s why I think every man on the blue line had a down year is because there wasn’t that guy on the bench I you know I’ve said this before we can argue whether Jay leech is the right guy or not uh but we certainly can’t argue that it was a necessity to get somebody back in there um now I I tend to think he is the right guy um Joe sacko is promoted to associate coach um so it remains to be seen who’s going to look after the PK uh Kelly will look after the power play is what we’re being told um but it gives Montgomery a chance to be handson having an associate coach now and have his his take on every aspect of the of the game yeah um I I think it could work I honestly think it could work if he’s gonna if Lee is gonna take over the defense you have to wonder who’s gonna take over the penal penalty kill as you said Dom um is it so last year it was it was it came out that I guess it was Montgomery and Kelly who were running the power play last year is that stay the same next year uh I don’t know how they’ll do it now I I really don’t I Kelly will remain part of it right um whether Montgomery likes sackle because he knew the defensive setup the way the Bruins have played under both Julian and Cassidy so he really liked that and that that’s why sacko had control of that but last year was the the first time the PK wasn’t what top three or four in the NHL yeah it wasn’t great no especially especially during the postseason during the second round it wasn’t amazing yeah so so I I don’t know how they’ll handle it I I I I will say this though it’s and I I wasn’t knocking mlan being upstairs it’s just you want a defenseman to coach defenseman and I think mlan going into the skills and development portion is a good thing because that’s where his strength is he can help out in McQuade um you know I I think all around it’s a good move yeah absolutely same here um Sam and I talked before you jumped on the um in the room Dom that we we noticed a big difference um because uh the first year that Jim Montgomery was here um he had John guden as an assistant coach and we all saw shot generation coming from the Blue Line it was awesome to see uh it wasn’t the big Clapper it wasn’t this it was just shots in to create secondary opportunities by the guy that are out in front of the key trying to you know uh either tip it or get a rebound last year I that dipped way off I did not see a lot of shot generation from the blue line um and I I really want to see get that back in because I think when you have all members of your of your anybody all five players out in the ice when they’re all contributing that’s a good team but when you’re only relying on three players off of a line each time it’s it’s really hard to to win in this league and I think by generating more shots from the back end is is definitely going to be needed um and you know we could talk about Charley McAvoy as well because uh one of our colleagues Jason cook wrote a very interesting article about um his thoughts on why a player like chlie makoy should be taking off of the first Power Play um and and replaced with somebody that is more of a quarterback and so on um you know if if Ottawa and Boston do do a trade and and maybe Jacob Chan is involved in that I think he’d be a fantastic kind of quarterback um he had 41 points last year if I’m not mistaken uh but there’s there’s options too but I I really like what Jay leech brought to uh his Providence days um working with the younger crew a lot of those a lot of those players are now on the in the NHL roster um next year so he’s got some familiarity with those people uh and the players so I think it’s a really good move and and I think that by having him here like you said Dom he’s a defensive coach he’s not a forward a former forward that’s you know just a stop gap for a Jim Montgomery system um I I think it’s going to be a lot better I think the defense is is you know I’m not going to say it’s you know the defense is going to be Stanley Cup winning although I hope it is but I think it’s just going to be a little bit better than last year and then we can work on there from year to year to get the back end uh much stronger and stronger as players like uh Mason lorai and and you know uh other players that get involved uh get more time at the NHL level do you speaking of Mason laai do you think think that he could power back the the quarterback the power play first unit next year or do you think he’s not quite ready for that yet I think he could it depends on how on the work he puts in this offseason um players the the players that want to improve and I’ll use Matthew padra as an example um his season ended last May in the O OHL and I got to go to his hometown and see one of his workouts and I said that June I said he is my sleeper to make the Bruins roster out of Camp just because I saw the E I knew how bad he wanted it just watching him work out for a couple of days so the players that want it um they put in the effort not a practice not during games they put in the effort in the offseason to improve the things they need to improve so could Mason lorite do it yes I think he could right now would would he have a lot of success mediocre but he could have a lot of success if he puts the word in this summer he’s still learning yeah he’s still from what I saw and I I’m a YouTuber so I cover all the Bruins games live with my reactions and commentary so I watched all the games I saw consistent improvement from lorai every time I saw him he from what I saw it was a phenomenal rookie season for lorai um I saw consistent Improvement in in park wspoon as well um another consistent defenseman who could crack top six minutes next year um as a defenseman um but you were talking about Matt Patra right Patra his season ended with that shoulder injury which is really unfortunate because he was having a pretty good rookie season um we saw it in the preseason last year we saw it in the early parts of last year how good he can be do you think that when the season starts again do you think we could we could see him get back to the level he was playing in in September October um or do you think he’ll start maybe in Providence next year maybe get some Providence minutes before getting back up back up with the big Club it depends on how his rehab goes and how much training he gets in like right now I would pencil him uh between um Trent Frederick and Morgan geeki on the third line that you know um I like that line two big bodies um who can protect them absolutely Frederick is would be known as the quote unquote enforcer of that line and Morgan geeki is also a bigger uh body as well and Patra is a Patra is a smaller guy um compared to Fredick and geeki but I think that line could work because they all have some sort of offensive touch Frederick had the had probably his best season last year with 20 goals about right 20 goals something like that um yeah and Patra played with both of them at different points and he showed chemistry with them right uh the good thing is both Frederick and geeky are defensively responsible um they can both take face offs on their strong sides and if ptra is struggling on the dot do one of them can take over I’ll tell you this Patra is an excellent faceof man he is he’s like he was like 58 59% in the OHL you just don’t lose that it’s he lacked the strength to beat NHL players that’ll come the technique is there yeah yeah the uh the option for him um you know op Providence is an option I I hope he doesn’t end up going there but that would be a real strong motivation tool if if he if he did because I think that he could do very well in the AHL um you know much much like how how um uh Frank frano kind of played back in the day you know you you the Bruins were forced to make room for a player like him because he was scoring 30 goals in 31 games vrono back in the day was unbelievable in Providence but when he got to the NHL it was it was a very streaky time but um like I said if he stops in the AHL I’m not I’m not hating it because it’s it’s just more experience and so on makes him fight for it like I was talking to Mason lowai several times when he well not several times a couple times when he got sent down to Providence and you know you ask him about the experience he’s like I don’t want to come back I don’t want to be down here you know I want to be up with the big glum and and that’s what he did was he he increased his work effort that much further that Boston was like okay now let’s get you back up here and see how you do and when he was inert asserted in the NHL lineup he really started to show that he was really learning more and more like you alluded to Sam you know you you saw him getting better and better every game so yeah and that’s what you want to see out of rookies right you want if they if you give them NHL minutes you want to see Improvement every time you see him whether it’s a mistake Laura is not perfect by any means he will definitely that’ll come with time uh there’s a couple of moments last year where lorai maybe overcommitted to the puck when his right defenseman had him had had the had the puck in the corner um which would create chaos in front of the net that will come with time I think I hope somebody will work with him this Summer on that make and lessen that from happening um you know I I talked to a lot of coaches and when they say it’s not not always about your points on the score sheet it’s how impactful you make your efforts in the game absolutely you know and to young players that’s huge yeah and lorai was a prime is a premier example of that um I’ve only I’ve only heard good things about uh lowai ever since he came up from maybe other Executives in the league people will say oh well this Anonymous executive says Lura is a guy they shouldn’t lose you know and I I agree with that I I think is probably the future of the defensive Corps hey guys can we sorry I can we go back to lenus alark for a minute oh boy my phone’s go so um I have to watch How I say this so um there were reports earlier in the day of a trade between Ottawa and and Philadelphia okay this is not a three-way trade but part of the package uh going to Ottawa would be going back to Boston uh for lenus hmark I don’t want to any names I don’t want to say picks because I just don’t do that okay so it’s not a three-way trade right but it involves pieces that that would come from the first trade so what you’re saying is the trade so if philadelph whatever Philadelphia gives to Ottawa Ottawa would then give to Boston for olark part part parts of it part of it okay okay interesting very interesting very very interesting this whole olark thing is it’s kind of fast developing as we’re speaking now because of the of all the the the goalie Market thinning out today with with markstrom and keer off the market um still have to convince him to wave though remember Ottawa is on his no trade list right so it should be very interesting what happens with that uh but we’ll see maybe yeah sorry if if you guys hear my phone going I I put it on silent but then I’ll miss everything so don’t worry about it that’s not a problem hear it yeah no we can’t hear it at all but that should be very interesting to see what happens uh with that and if Mark’s dealt whether that’s by July 1 whether that’s by the draft I don’t know we’ll see we have uh eight or nine days until the draft comes around so it should be very my guess my guess is before the draft oh yeah yeah that’s my that’s my guess too all right if it’s after the draft he’s staying that’s a fair that that’s a good thing all right so I’ll run by that so ifar is not dealt by the draft then he’s staying all right fair enough kind of my kind of my icy cold take if you want I I that I don’t know well anyway uh so that’s some breaking news that just came out about that so uh speaking of uh contract moves and everything there is uh so much stuff going on people are being rumored to be bought out people are being rumored to be put on waivers and one of those players could be an old friend Tory Krug is rumored to be bought out by the St Louis Blues um Krug uh he is remember he was with the Bruins for from he was with the main club from 2013 until 2020 if my if my math if my mind serves me right um Krug has three years left at $6 and5 million per season with the blues um I don’t know what he what the blues would do they would probably have to wave him to try to see if they can if anybody would claim him before they buy out his contract and I have to have it in the buried cap at the end at the end of the salary cap but for six years for but what yeah oh man two twoth thirds the salary over twice the time period that’s an expensive bio yeah so if the blues go with that which I don’t think they will but if they do would you guys be open to a possible return of bringing Tor crew back to the Bruins if let’s say Chan doesn’t come to Boston we’re looking for a left shot would Tory crew be the option that we’re looking for I’m not interested no I’m not interested in bringing Krug back me neither not not at all and and and I’ll tell you why we we need Matt grizzli is not probably coming back to Boston so seems yeah it seems the Boston Bruins are now moving on from the smaller type offensive defenseman not saying they don’t play a role in in the game but I don’t see that being the next um thing that this Boston Verone’s team needs in the next couple years I I really believe in watching the games and so on and particularly watching uh the the uh Stanley Cup playoffs this year I’ve noticed when you’re watching the back end some of these teams that are still involved and even in the you know the the uh the the conferences West and the East there’s some big big defensemen that have long reaches that are blocking the lanes and so on and and I think that the Bruins need to get more involved in that um not more stay at home and so on but defensemen that are that are good with the sticks block the lanes because man those side to side passes that killed the Boston Bruins the one time as they killed the Boston every ones and it just seems like they’re they’re out of position a lot and if you had a player or two that was good at just def flections moving the puck away I think that would be a better opportunity I just I just don’t see and honestly I don’t want to see it because this fan base will absolutely lose this [ __ ] because um the soft narrative the the he’s too small narrative the this and that narrative I don’t want to hear it so it’s a big a big no from me anyway do you agree Dom yeah I’m not he’s not he’s not what they need [Music] um you you don’t need another Matt grizzli who might put up a few more points yeah know I I think H how do I say this to Matt grizzli he’s like he’s good when he has the puck in the offensive zone but when he’s in his own end it’s not it’s not something that the Bruins need um he has a big salary cap right he had 3.8 something whatever it was for for grizzli I don’t think he was worth that from what we were getting from him on the ice I don’t know if you guys agree with that but I think grizzli is going to hit the market and I think they definitely don’t need another version of that in Tory Krug so no I agree so I think it’s it’s a a collective know that Tory Krug uh should come back to the Bruins they should go get a a bigger guy exactly and I’m not sure I’m not convinced St Louis is going to buy him out they’d be better off to trade him right at 50% retained and and get the money off the books in three years to carry 2third his salary over six years so that would be about what 4ish for well depend depends what his salary is it’s not off his cap hit so let’s see uh so is are you looking for his total salary yeah what what’s remaining on his salary so it would be eight and a half next year and six and a half 25 26 26 27 would be six million so add those three together so that’s take two3 of that so 60 % of that and spread it over six years yikes that no maybe they they would be better off to trade Krug yeah even at 50 retain 50% and a couple million bucks yeah oh okay interesting so yeah I saw his name floating around as a possible buyout I saw all their names so we’ll see what happens with that I don’t I honestly don’t know it’s like I mean I’d be shocked if they bought him out it just also I want to add on to the the whole Krug idea um I I remember when when he was negotiating with the Boston Bruins it came out that um it was a verbal agreement towards the beginning of the year and both sides went talkless until the 11th hour and when they sat down the Boston Bruins mentioned that that offer is no longer on the table which ultimately had him move to free agency whether that’s true or not I think no that’s true they pul they pulled the offer that’s what I thought too I I knew it was it was real but um I just think that there might be a little bit of bad blood there because of what happened and so on which ultimately had him move on to free agency and sign with St Louis so I honestly don’t see a fit here at all uh with the Boston even entertaining U an option to bring him back at all I completely agree I did I just think they need to get some bigger bigger bodies Mason lorai is a perfect example of that right if you want an offensively styled defenseman lorai has the the the puck handling he has the the speed he has a defensive prowess that Krug and grizzli were lacking and he’s also a little bit bigger than Krug and grizzli which I think is an upgrade yeah yeah so I think that’s a I think that’s a good thing that they will hopefully stay away from Tory Krug um another player hitting the market that’s for the Bruins for SE per se and I guess it came out recently that he’s already opened up contract discuss discussions with the Bruins that’s Danon Heinen um Danon Heinen great story here for Heinen right gets a p he comes over on for to the Bruins on a PTO um he uh he has has a good preseason um stays with the team without a contract for the first few weeks of the season um then in late October signs a contract and immediately has an impact um at league minimum he gave us about what 65 70 games and he had um a really successful year at league minimum and I would be I think I’m not the only one I that says this I am completely on board with getting H in a multi-year extension what do you guys think you go first Mark I wrote an article about this on black Ando hockey.com about um how the Boston Bruins should sign him to a multi-year deal um will he come for one possibly uh but I just I think it at this stage in Danton Heinen’s career I think he wants a little more security and I think that he’s the type of player um that the Boston Bruins really like because he’s versatile he can go up and down the lineup he doesn’t complain about anything he just goes out and does his job um this was his second best uh career season if I’m not mistaken um and he bet on himself he literally bet on himself to see if he’s going to make it on the PTO and he did it and there’s there’s um there’s a relationship between him and Jim Montgomery going dating back to the University of Denver and so on which is which is good too um but I don’t think that a multi-year deal is really gonna cost that much money to have a player like him uh involved in in the in the lineup um I would much rather uh this is probably not going to be a great take for the chat right now or anybody tuning in but I would much rather have a Danton Heinen than a Barkley good you know I I just think that Barkley is uh overpriced in my opinion for what he does um and I think that Danton could come in at probably two um maybe even 1.5 to 2.5 range uh for two years I wouldn’t hate that at all neither I think I think he’d be really good for the younger players that are that are trying to you know crack the roster and so on I just think it’ be a solid move and and last year I think he proved that he still has what it takes to play in the league and and I thought he was welcome with open arms back in Boston and I think he fit in really well with what they did I think a two I think a Morgan geeky type contract could be really good for Heinen right two years two million a season I think that could be perfect for Heinen I’d be fine with that but my question then is where does he fit in okay so if you’re bringing in the center and your top line is zacha New Center pack then Maran Coil Plus new Winger if you’re bringing him in and then the third line like I said of Frederick podra geeki and a fourth line of Loco Beacher bzo where’s Heinen fitting in this is sorry so this is where I I think I went in the article and said that it would probably only work if zaka was moved to a wing or does that still complicate things Dom that complicates things yeah like I mean I just listed 12 forwards unless you’re not going to get that Winger and you’re putting Hein in with Brad Marian and Charlie Coyle right I would NE I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to that I mean I think Heen could fit that role pretty well um but I also don’t know if he’s consistent enough to fit in with Coyle and Marshon for for in that role um it remains to be seen if they go out and get a Winger that’s fine if they bring back Heinen and put him in the top six I’m also okay with that too because I think Heinen as you said Mark can play up and down the lineup he can fit in on the fourth line he can fit in on the top line and he’s done well in all of those roles that he’s that he was in I don’t see a big issue with that it would just be uh yes somebody just said in the chat coil Freddy coil Frederick Heinen looked very good I agree with that I think that could be a really good uh third line option if or a second line option if things don’t work out you need to shuffle up the lineup that’s why I think the versatility of heinan is key for Success which is why you bring a guy like him back yeah and hey bare Force One I knew gadero got claimed I’m just saying I’m just using a comparative to money and so on yeah that that’s what I think uh all right well let’s get into our uh last topic of discussion of the night before we get into your questions um Derek forbert is most likely going to be hitting the market July 1 um Derek forbert with the Bruins he W he didn’t we didn’t really know what his role was in the final year with the Bruins uh first two years with the Bruins we kind of knew what his role was he was the the third left defenseman um Bruins signed him in in the 2021 summer a three-year $9 million deal uh at the time I thought it was a good deal but now I don’t know if it was a good deal what do you got and do you think he was worth the the what he got and what do you think what what do you think forbert will do this summer what do you think he’ll do do you think he’ll hit the market and sign elsewhere or oh I think he’s hitting the market um what did he earn his keep or his money no especially this year but injuries had a lot to do with it right I will say this Derek forbert Matt Glick are not earning what they earned on their current contracts in freee agency they’re not yeah uh I don’t I don’t see him coming back I see Derek forward testing free agency for reports um he just didn’t do enough for me in a contract year um to say we we absolutely need this guy I know he’s a bigger defenseman we need that grit blah blah blah but we also need a healthy player on the back end as well um so I I did he do okay in his three years I I think it was a good stop gap for Sweeney and and and staff to get him aboard and kind of nurture the the prospects a little longer um but I think it’s time for him to move on because uh you know if we’re taking on players in trades and in free agency uh there’s just no room in the roster forum and I I really don’t even see it the way Parker were the spoon has been has came into this organization I think that that guy is now your solidified seventh defenseman you know that could be dropped in situational whatever give somebody a rest um and yeah I just I don’t see anywhere where the the Bruins and forbert have uh no any future to be honest with you I like I will say I’ll give forbert his props I did like him on the penalty kill with Carlo I think they were very a a shutdown pairing on the on the penalty kill but other than that I didn’t really see much out of him yeah yeah I agree that’s what I think and if if Mark is right and I tend to agree with him a wat spoon locking down the seventh spot then Lori makoy lindol Carlo Peak and who are your six defenseman there’s no one in Providence no that’s why I keep saying you have to go out and get another defenseman because there’s nobody in Providence and that’s great great segue into what I’ve been trying to say to so many people is a lot of people come at me and they say you have to give to get a lot of people have Mason Lowa even Parker w i mean Parker McLean here at black and gold Productions he was doing his Trade Mark trades and so on and some people people came to him offering trades and a lot of them had Mason lorai in it because the fact is that other NHL teams that are entertaining any trades with Boston that’s going to be your attractive piece and in my opinion and in my honest opinion as Dom alluded to we don’t have anything in Providence that screaming get in the lineup right now so if you move lowai I think you’re taking steps back not forward yep do and listen when when everybody was hot after Noah Hanahan everybody was pretty much in agreement Mason lorai would have to go the other way and I said I said I remember this you know I probably look like a bring idiot to everybody out there but I said I’m not trading Mason lorai for Noah Hanahan because Mason lorai will be a better player better allaround defenseman in three years I I have to agree with that I would not want to give up lorai for practically anything really if you think about it I think lorai is a very strong defenseman yeah I I par Parker W spoon though I I like the idea of him of him being a seventh defenseman but if we get somebody cheaper than W spoon do you think Wilders spoon could be the the third left man in that scenario do you think he yeah like I mean you you want a guy I I hate to use shaton Kirk as an example but you want a guy like shaton Kirk who can come in and and give water spoon a break or what have you in in that scenario um if there’s an injury water spoon can play either side where you know we’re desperate down in Providence for defenseman that can come in and fill in so that’s why the Bruins have to get another NHL defenseman they absolutely have to I I like Michael Callahan I like Alec regula I like Ian Mitchell you know Ian had several sents in the Boston Bruins uh you know covering for injuries and so on but those guys just don’t scream to me like they’re everyday roster players you know they’re pretty much on CP of of it but regula might be the closest thing to it yeah and if I’m not mistaken he was very high up on plus minus and I know that’s not a huge stat but as a defenseman that’s kind of big to lead the American Hockey League and that’s a big deal is there any on is there anybody that would be on the UFA Market would that you guys would be interested in getting for as a as a third defenseman on the left side I read Brenan Dylan could be an option but I’m not so sure about that I I would like Dylan M um the thing is is what what’s he GNA cost you and how does that affect the other two guys you got to acquire plus signing San let’s forget signing San because we know that’s going to be a done deal so I would rather they got their Center they got their Winger and then see what’s left over to spend on defenseman and Shop that way I don’t want the defenseman to be the first guy they go after and then not leaving you enough money for your forwards right completely agree I would want them to sign Swan and go get a center before they ever get a defenseman yeah yeah definitely prioritize um it it it doesn’t send a great message to the sing Camp if you sign a center a wing a defenseman because now you’re now you’re handicapping yourself on your salary cap and that to me and an agent if I was a player would be like well look look at the funds that we have start to shrink and shrink and Shrink every signing that they make and trust me both sides do not want to go back to arbitration no if it does it is not going to end and pretty and if you I’ve read and heard for many years players that go to two arbitrations don’t don’t get along very well after the second one more more or less it’s a quick trade or you know contract freaking whatever but yeah yeah I’ve heard both sides are really eager to get to get a deal done before July 1 so I would be surp I would not be surprised if we get a deal right after the draft with Swan so you gota look at your you got to look at your cont you got to look at your money and your priorities you gotta list them out Swan’s probably your number one priority right now make sure he’s long I’m GNA give you another scenario Sam right if the Bruins can acquire a first round pick um to give the fans something to talk about instead of sitting there till Round 4 the next day that they announce the signing that morning the morning of the draft of the first of the first of day two of of CA day one’s Friday night right yes so you’ve already sat through Friday night without the Bruins picking now you get up Saturday morning and you got to wait till around 4 and they’ll announce the signing then to give something to the fans nice yeah do you think there could possibly be a deal in place already they’re just waiting to announce or do you or do you think they’ll actually just sign the contract on the Saturday morning of the draft um wouldn’t surprise me either way I I wouldn’t be surprised it’s just the Bruins are very timely sometimes they do they do things they time things they do um whether it’s uh during the Patriots uh Super Bowl Parade or what have you they just seem to time [Music] things awkwardly if that’s the case then what about Friday during the Celtics parade they announced oh yeah by the way we we signed Swan to an eight-year extension or whatever it is yeah like oh perfect example two seasons ago okay the Bruins had one crazy morning they they acquir Tyler bruzi from the Red Wings and the same morning they resigned poock to that eight-year extension it was just it was probably the craziest morning the Bruins had had in a long time getting a b a berui type player and uh getting uh poock locked up long term so it wouldn’t surprise me that if they pull something off like that so maybe during this I’ll keep my ears and eyes open during the uh the Celtics parade on Friday because you never know Kevin oh I love Kevin don’t laugh be careful boys Dom will whack you Kevin I’m gonna whack you what are you eating what are you eating right now buddy I know you’ve got food on the table that’s funny it’s probably a taco taco in one hand and a slice of pizza in the other that’s sounds like the dream that sounds like the dream pot roast very nice pot roast uhuh awesome well should be interesting to see what the Bruins through this summer now we turn to you guys you guys have I bet you a bunch of questions to ask us we have some time left in the show so now you guys have the chance to ask us questions so send in any questions you guys have about what the Bruins could be could look like free agency trades draft choices any of the above ask away one of my one of my moderators over in my chat uh baren Productions also DJ as we know him as he goes realistic Center choice for the Bruins what could a possible top center for the bees look like for free agency oh I think ly Holm is their target but I I I would settle with Stevenson yeah uh a Winger like a Tyler tley and a defenseman okay I’m gonna get I’m gonna get a little real for a second I’m from New Hampshire I am I’m a Monarch’s kid I love Tyler TFI so much um I I it is my dream to see him in a Bruin’s uniform so that would be great I love St I love Chandler ston as well I think Chandler Stevens would be a nice aition um not a question but Sam I’ve been with this channel for a long time and I will say you’re a great addition well done and keep up the great work thank you very much I really appreciate it I agree with Kevin what a TI pump from my boy Kevin love it love the love that’s being given to our boy Sam who’s on here for the first time I know he’s been bouncing off the walls to get started today so and Sam Kevin’s never pumped my tires like that I feel like Roberto leango well if that’s the case then uh I’ll take the praise I appreciate it I very I very much appreciate it to Foley as a bruin would be money from DJ I completely agree with that um I think he would be a perfect fit in that Marshon coil line as you said right if you were looking for a second line right wing I think tooy would be a perfect pick for that yeah so if you put Stevenson in the middle um you know you could then afford a Dylan type on defense absolutely uh question for Dom here in a potential omark trade would you prefer a first round pick or a roster player who could help right away if it was a first round pick uh I would want the pick for 2025 and I’ll tell not 2024 and I’ll tell you why this is a very defensive heavy draft um when you’re looking at the top let’s say the top 10 there’s a bunch of defenseman there the forwards are going to go very very early because there aren’t a lot of great ones so they’re going to be snapped up early next year is looking like a very good Center draft they need that for centerman and that’s what they need I know earlier I said there’s nobody in Providence to play defense but you have defenseman coming like Jackson Edward Christian kadinsky um and those type of guys they’re on the way they’re just not in Providence yet uh Ryan Mast is another one so I know when you look at the Bruins depth chart or what we’ll call Bruin property there’s a lot of centerman there is there really is but there isn’t that one that for lack of a better term that is better than Matthew ptra to be your number one I agree with that I completely agree with that so yeah that’s very interesting all right so one of my another one of my viewers popped into my on our chat and said is anyone if anyone’s available in free agency realistically what would you think they would do so we we already addressed that so that would be Elias lolm probably the number one target right yeah I would think so or if that doesn’t work out a Chandler Stevenson would be great I think a nice fit um Tyler tley as well we were talking about um and of course uh a left shot on the defensive core a Brendan Dylan would be would be would work with Stephenson and AI coming in that would be I think Dylan would be a good Target for that I think I think the money would work that way and you know you’re in in that case you’re spending 8.5 million on Jeremy Swan is that what you think Swan could get yeah I think that’s what he’s going to top out at might come in under but that’s what he could get do you think he could take like a Team friendly contract of some not like a super big one but like maybe like seven and a half instead of eight and a half if it comes in below eight and a half he’s signing a team-friendly contract fair enough completely Fair uh Peter asking realistic trade returns from Ottawa for olark uh he says he’d like Drake BS and a Shane Pino otherwise probably picks what do you guys you’re not getting either of those two guys I didn’t think so either yeah and if we get Pinto I want to know his bookie yeah geeez oh the irony of that is the whole scenario is something yeah leave it to Mark it’s like leave it to Bieber we’ll call the show Leave it to Mark oh that’s funny oh uh Kevin responded didn’t realize it was my job to pump your tires D it is Kevin it is very good uh Robert Chalmers when it comes to Providence defenseman I couldn’t agree more on no one screams NHL ready to me uh Alec Alec regula is big and is very good at plus minus but turnovers are a concern for me what do you guys think about that oh he’s absolutely right absolutely right and if anybody’s on Twitter X or whatever we’re calling it today if you’re not following Ivan Ivan Ivan you really are doing yourself Injustice he’s uh does a fantastic job he uh shares videos and so on I really love his work but he’s he’s also made our point that if Alec regula is the best option down there and Robert can you put that back up again Sam sure and so if Alec regula is the best option down there what’s that saying about the other defenseman in the system that’s why I’m pushing for the Bruins to go out and sign a defenseman absolutely because I’m sure if you ask Robert he would agree maybe he wouldn’t but regula is the closest thing they have to an NHL defenseman down in Providence somebody on X asks Omar FES or Chen you’re not getting Marty NES for for Lena Almar it’s not happening no and and from my understanding just from people that I’ve read that are are are deep in the trenches um nishas is gonna get a uh Carolina’s gonna get a boatload for him and and I wouldn’t be overly shocked if uh Vancouver is somewhat involved in that um I just don’t think that the Bruins have the assets to get a a player like this and I also want to dovetail onto this conversation about him being a center are are we are we talking about nichas as a Winger or a center because from my understanding from the folks I talk to he hasn’t played center a lot even though he can play center he’s been basically a Winger right and I know that I know it’s easy to transition back but when you’re not there consistently I’m afraid of a big trade like that and and then your first year here is a year out of an adjustment I want somebody to come in who’s going to make an immedi Med impact up the middle and so on that’s going to act like a natural first line Center would I love niches as a Winger your damn R would but I’ll tell you something right now he’s they’re gonna get a lot more Caroline is gonna get a lot more than Boston will ever have to offer because we’ve said several times Providence just doesn’t have the players right now because the Bruins have just notoriously traded their picks away to get better uh before the trade deadline and so on we just don’t have those assets you know nobody’s going to take I I mean Fabian lel’s uh stock has dropped merula stock has dropped um so I I just don’t see those guys being huge you know grabbers for other teams to like we need these these young players in our system we’re going to give you this player for them so uh next question would you keep brazzo at the big Club yes he signed for one more year I completely agree with that uh I think a lot of potential out of brazzo right I I think once he gets a full training camp we’ll really seees people got to remember he’s 27 years old so or will be there’s not a lot of development left to do um you know I wonder in the playoffs the injury how much it affected him because he wasn’t winning the 5050 puck like he was in the regular season uh he was losing some of his battles um so he wasn’t the same player so let’s see what a full training camp does for him uh and and go from there but right now yeah you you keep them uh Jeremy asks does Trevor kunar make the team out of Camp well I said a year year ago uh or 13 months ago that Matt potra was my sleeper to make the roster last year and I’ve been saying for a couple months now Trevor countar is my sleeper to make the roster come October so I wouldn’t be surprised if he does I I like the player I like what I saw down in Providence uh the kids a buz saww he’s got speed he’s got decent skill um iot and a shot yeah I mean he’s got he’s got a decent Clapper and everything my my thing about him is and this is just my opinion I don’t think that he was put in the best position for his development and that’s not a shot against uh Ryan muel and his staff uh first year players generally start from the bottom work their way up hopefully after a good camp if he even if he doesn’t make the Boston bins out of Camp I think next year muel and Trent Whitfield and and Matt Thomas um should really consider putting him up a higher in the in the uh in the lineup to really show what he can actually do offensively not just be the buzs saww not go out there and hit and and and you know fort and so on because he’s good at all that stuff but I want to see the offensive capabilities that he can bring to the game well here’s here’s the thing Mark and I like the way they they handled with him because I think his upside in the NHL is bottom six uh he could be a very high-end um fourth liner or a middle tier third liner so I don’t want him playing Topline minutes in Bost in Providence because that’s not what you’re going to be at the next level so let me teach you how to be a fourth liner and how to be a third liner uh we’re we’re wasting all of our TI if I’m teaching you how to be a first liner when you don’t have first line potential in the NHL right now that makes sense does make sense uh Peter asks any interest in signing Victor arvidson has a byow to Brusque replacement oh I love this question I I’m a big fan of Victor arson and he’s a goal scorer and so on and obviously that’s what we need um I just don’t know what the price would be to to to get him and and to do everything else that the Boston V has to do uh this off season um not sure uh be for says the only way we get NES is if he Taylor Halls his way here what he’s talking about is you get get him for a really cheap price um with only Anders Bor and I believe a pick going back to Buffalo in that Taylor Hall deal a few years ago yeah um he can’t Taylor Hall his way here Taylor Hall had a full no movement clause and uh Marty NES doesn’t can can can I tell a quick story guys go this is out of Brian B Brian Burke’s book oh this ought to be good about Thomas cabet oh boy okay so Brian Burke became general manager of the Toronto May police and he called cabet into the office and he had an old movement clause and Burke says I’m trading you cabet just looked at him first thing he does leave the office and call call his agent his agent calls Burke back and says uh you can’t trade him me as a no movement clause and bur’s like but I didn’t sign him and his agent says I don’t care he has an old movement Clause you can’t trade him Burke said well I don’t care I didn’t sign him and the agent’s like but you don’t understand he has no movement Clause you can’t trade him and said okay that’s fine uh tell him to give me a list of teams he will accept a trade to or uh he’s not playing the rest of the season oh gosh and agent went back to cabet and came back to Burke and and Burke said do you have a list and the agent says yes and Burke says what’s the list and cab ER his agent says Boston Bruins one team wow didn’t know that I had no idea about that yeah it’s in Burke’s book so that’s how you T tailor Hall your way to Boston uh Nate just has no move restrictions he can’t he can’t do that no he can’t uh I think what he was referring to was getting him at a cheap price but that’s that’s funny yeah because kolet was like our seventh defenseman for that 2011 run right was that what he was his role was pretty much yeah but we only got one power play goal in the whole playoffs yeah all right uh somebody uh David asks if Marshon will sign an extension when terms retire at the end of next season what does maron’s future look like after next season yes I say marshan and not marand I just don’t like saying marshand I like saying marshan I agree with you I’m Canadian so it’s Marshon yeah marshan see yeah I’ve always called him Marshon I think he signs an extension um I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens this you know July after the Bruins are done filling out their roster yeah I I think it’s going to be year by year though I don’t think G be fivey year multi-year deal I think I think at his age and you know you know what he’s going through and so on I I just and also doing it one year is also you know good for the team too so he seems like a he would do like a berson and play for a league minimum just to just to be a part of the team and keep going but also help with the salary cap constraints that could happen if the Boston Berwin do end up spending all 21 million um of available cap which I kind of believe they do um my question would be so if Marshon were to decide you know what I’m done I’m retiring at the end of next season that leaves a vacancy for the captain who do you I was personally saying Charlie makoy should be the next Captain of this team but who do you think could be the next Captain of this team if when Marsh retires Brandon Carlo I you know what I was going to say a lot of people are going to [ __ ] on me but Brandon Carlo that’s a good I like Carlo too 100% I like Carlo I do just just the way he’s respected throughout the organization in the room and so on and around the league yeah and around the league I mean he’s he is the league uh rep for the union players and so on for for the Boston Bruins all 32 teams have a rep and he and he’s the guy that that the everybody in the locker room voted to to you know uh to have so uh he’s got just a ton of respect great guy Great Communicator uh one of the um you know behind the scene leaders that doesn’t wear an a all the time but should be um somebody somebody said poock I don’t Posto’s great but I don’t see him as like a leader of the team do you you understand what I’m saying yeah totally toally agree uh let’s see what’s next what else questions we got we got more questions coming in which is fantastic uh if the Bruins somehow sneak into the first round of the draft who’s a center you’d like for me I like Teddy sta or Saka Bo in the mid the late first round they’ve interviewed a lot of guys reportedly yeah bring in the questions I love it I I’m not against either of them but you know Robert I would rather if if they traded allar for first round pick like I said earlier I’d rather uh it was for next year than this year I think the the center depth next year is much much better uh than this year’s Center crop in the in the draft um if you’re looking for a defenseman yeah I’d say this year but uh uh um I think Calgary did the right thing in going for in accepting next year’s pick even though it’s top 10 protected as opposed to this year’s pick in the in the markstrom trade um Mark you can still hear us right oh yeah okay he’s just having some camera issues right now but he’s still here don’t worry uh Kristen asked I don’t think I don’t but I think de Brusque might be a good option for Edmonton if he doesn’t return to the Bruins what do you guys Rus possibly ending up with the Oilers Hometown yeah but you know we’ve learned over the years that that doesn’t always mean anything right like I mean I was being told for months Hanahan was coming home right it doesn’t mean anything yeah doesn’t mean anything Edmonton’s got their own cap issues that they’re gonna have to deal with uh especially if they want to resign Leon dry sidol um McDavid in another year will be the highest paid player in hockey again you know so it’s it’s not like Edmonton has cap space coming out their ass no especially with McDavid and dry cidal yeah and and you’ve got Evan buard coming up too right who’s gonna expect a big payday and he should get it because of how good he’s been in the postseason yeah especially that we were talking earlier about power quarterbacking the power play I want an Evan Bard power quarterback power play he is a perfect example of that oh you know um Gustaf fling yeah another one and Evan Evan Bard I have really really enjoyed watching those two play and oh would they be make unbelievable Boston Bruins defenseman and we haven’t really talked about it but before we get to the next question Stanley Cup finals still going on Florida had had a three series lead we’re going to game six the Oilers have fought their way back into the series what are you guys thoughts on the series right now do you think Edmonson could complete the comeback edmonson’s coming back baby you think the oers wi the cup yeah I think they’re coming back I think they I think they’ve gotten to bosski uh they figured out how to how to beat that Florida for check and uh I think they’re coming back and McDavid McDavid yeah I want to say this about Evan Bard I saw him play as a 14-year-old first I was watching this guy and had to text a friend I says what do you think of this guy he’s ah he’s all right he’ll be an okay player and then next year he he broke into London Knights in the OHL as a 15-year-old I thought no way man this guy is better than all right like this guy’s going to be a player but anyway yeah Edmonton’s coming back I said the same thing I said once the once Edmonton they could win down in Florida uh in game five I believe that was game five yeah yeah yeah then go back to Edmonton I think that they could possibly win the cup and it’ll be the first family cup since 1993 when the Montreal Canadians won was first cup won by a Canadian team um you know hey Friday night Rogers Place is going to be rocking in they are gonna be loud they are gonna be ready to go um yeah I think the Oilers have a chance to come back and as a Bruins fan I’ve always said I never cheer for the team that eliminates mine I’m pulling for Edmonton to come back and Win the Cup this year absolutely and I want Edmonton to win because it’s the best thing thing for the ruins because an Edmonton win uh will add unknown amounts of money to the salary cap whereas Florida will not because of the McDavid impact correct well that and just the merchandise sales after they win right will be through the roof they’ve already set records for merchandise sales through the these playoffs can you imagine if they win oh people people will not believe this but the edmont Oilers were tied with the Toronto M Poli as the top Revenue producing teams in the NHL oh that’s crazy crazy it’s probably because of everybody loves McDavid and dry that definitely helped things out also probably uh Evan Bard and Ryan neon Hopkins and stuff like that probably those guys helped out long as Zach Heyman too who had a great season yeah Edmonton fans just go nuts did you see what their 5050 draw was no for for $4 million holy [ __ ] wow one game 5050 draw the Oilers fans they’re crazy they’re crazy an oil country um let’s see what else have we not answered yet do you guys think the Bruins will go back to their previous logo since the Centennial anniversary ended yes I believe they will I think that already came out right because they said that release yeah I thought I saw something about that the press release when they originally announced them said that it was going to be only for one year yeah I yeah athetics a YouTube channel by the name of athetics did a great video on that um and they and he said that the Bruins are going to be going back to the jerseys they had before um and he’s also the first to report the Kings and the Ducks getting their revamps for their jerseys and their look and everything and the so hopefully those come out pretty good um Sweeney spends entire cap space to summer or waits until trade deadline what do you guys think oh he’ll save some oh yeah I don’t think he’ll spend all 2 million of it potentially 26 if they trade allmark the good thing and I I’ll try to make this as easy to understand because the cap is is really quite complicated because of the four nations tournament the season is longer this year correct so that means that means there’s more days to the NHL season when it’s usually around uh one 186 to 192 it’ll be over 200 days to the season so because of that money you Bank grows faster so a million dollar in cap space will be worth $6 million on trade deadline as opposed to $5 million that’s amazing yeah so it it I I don’t want to go through the long process on how it’s calculated but because of the four nations tournament you’re banking more cap space this upcoming season all right we have one more question here uh and it um it says let me see here we already answered when is slman gonna be signed um let’s see oh that’s funny it’s like a cultural thing up here they love their 50-50 Raffles yeah um where was the question I saw oh my gosh I lost it I don’t know where it was oh when Swan going to be signed we already addressed that it was um probably going to be around draft time I was suspect before July 1 right oh yeah I would think so he’ll get his massive payday all right well we are going to wrap
