Mr. Young and Fresh back at it.

    Would be a good 7th D man on a contender I think.

  2. Whenever Gio decides to hang up the skates, I hope the Flames give him a 1 day contract to retire as a Flame.

I would only have him back as a strength or defensive coach.

Our blue line is wildly crowded as is especially in the lower pairings.

I love that man. I hope he lands somewhere that appreciates him.

Iggy, Gio, Coleman, Weegs and Anderson…my fave flames 🔥 ♥️

I love Gio and I miss the days he was here. I’d love for him to end his playing career as a flame, and I think it’d be really cool if he came back in a coaching role.  I also I also think picking him up as a skater is antithetical to the strategy Conroy is trying to execute right now, and it’s a different team than he left – the only people still on the team from when he got taken by Seattle are Backlund, Andersson, Kylington and Mangiapane.  Even the coach and GM are different

  6. Gio will sign with a contender for the next few years, but come up short each time, losing in the finals once. Then at the 2028 trade deadline 44 year old Mark Giordano will be traded to the surging flames, playing in their new arena and surprising everyone by being in contention for the division crown with McDavid and the Kings. A few months later, captain Mackenzie Weegar hands Gio the cup, his first and only championship, ending a historic career.

The fact that he was a healthy scratch for the leafs aging and questionable at best D core says alot imo. Wish him well but ya

This might sound crazy, but it’s a shame Gio isn’t on a bad contract. With where the flames are at, Conroy could take on a few “2 years left” bad contracts in exchange for picks and prospects. Gio would be a great guy to take back if the Leafs were looking to dump him for cap space, but iirc Good took league minimum to play there, so that might be a pipe dream.

Id bring him back to the flames. Great guy. Great leader.
