Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin is recovering from surgery for an upper-body injury sustained late in the season.
General manager Steve Yzerman provided the update Friday, adding that the 27-year-old forward is expected to be at 100 percent by the start of training camp.
Get well soon boss

Larkin was playing like a man possessed down the stretch. I would have never known he was injured if Yzerman had never brought it up.
Best captain in the NHL, there’s no doubt about it.

I could tell that he wasn’t himself late in the season. Just didn’t have the same speed or pep to his step that he did earlier on.
Here’s hoping he’s back with a vengeance next season, and that we actually get him some real help down the middle.

The final faceoff of the season was Larkin putting his body on the line for the team. Really must have hurt
