The kings made a huge mistake in trading for him. But the kings win this deal just in the fact they save 4 years at 8.5 and 3.25 for the next 3 years. Cal Peterson is gone but Eric Portillo is on deck.
Dubois contract is wayyy worse…Kuemper is 3 year at 5.25 and they need a goalie, Dubois has SEVENS years at 8.5, thats 4 years more not 2
Hands down, Kings won this trade. Even if Kuemper plays garbage for us, his contract length and aav is less than PLD. Also, maybe Kuemper can thrive in our system again. PLD went through three teams. Never been a fan of his. No drive. No thanks.
