  1. 100% agree. This upcoming season the Leafs are actually in a bigger cap hell than the last season. What will help? Marner needs to agree to a trade or this could once again be the same old same old. Marner holds the dagger here and if he wanted to screw with the Leafs he definitely could do that. On the bright side though the 2025-26 season is looking promising with the Leafs having much better cap flexibility with many players coming off the books but…….. they also currently do not have a #1,#2,#3 and #4 draft pick in the 2025 draft.

  2. Hyman scored more goals than Matthew's this year Inc. Playoffs and mitch is sipping Shirley temples at the country club

  3. Leafs always think they have the upper hand to demand salary retention while giving up next to nothing – the most hilarious organization in pro sports.

  4. I wanna know the offers before passing judgment. I wouldn't be surprised other teams just had better assets to offer

  5. The Leafs could not have traded for Calgary's goalie because Marner is on the team. They have to get that sorted out first. Had they made the trade with Calgary for Markstrom or even had it set up, other teams would have offered pennies on the dollar for Marner. They have to move one of the core 4 in order to move forward.

  6. according to all the so-called experts, Leafs are signing every free agent – line up of 60 players and salary cap of 200m – and still won't get out of first round

  7. Flames no longer have any thing the Leafs want so doesn't matter. How ever if Conroy comes calling. If Treliving doesn't immediately hang up. Any thing out of the Leafs organization starts at at Least Two first round picks and goes up from there.

  8. It’s either Tavares or Marner one has to go. In my opinion, it should be Tavares. It’s not that he’s not a good player. We just can’t afford everybody and that’s that we need defence and better goaltending.

  9. I think the idea that the Flames won't trade with the Leafs because Brad Treliving quit has probably been overstated. I'm pretty sure, he is well aware of the odds of doing deals with Calgary so if he knew they wouldn't deal with him, I don't think he'd be trying. If he is, then he's stupider than I give him credit for which I just don't buy. Furthermore, in a hypothetical scenario, if the Leafs offered the Flames a "knock their socks off" deal then the Flames would be fools not to consider it.

  10. Jesse is dead on about Brad checking out everything. In his time with Calgary the Flames were linked to almost every big name out there.

  11. The Leafs are done for another season. Bumping up the cap hit of the core four is beyond ridiculous.
Cap goes up and the Leafs actually get worse. 🙄
